I have owned a 2011 AWD SLS for about 6 months, with approximately 2500 miles (I don't drive much).
For the most part, I love this car.
But more and more I have noticed two annoying issues which I was wondering if any other owner has any feedback or solution.
1) A light rattling sound in the passenger dash as if something is loosened, when the car hits small bumps. I have emptied out the passenger glove compartment but cannot localize a source and was wondering if anybody had similar experience.
When the car goes over a speed bump, at very very slow speed, the right side of the car sounds like it's falling apart, AS IF the window glass is not tightly screwed on (of course when I examined it by touch everything is sturdy). At first I attributed it to a stiffer suspension, but now I feel it's kind of ridiculous that a car that costs almost 10K more than my last impreza (which had no squeak and goes over bumps like a champ without noise) does this.
2) Vibration sound coming from passenger side (driver side sounds fine) when I accelerate from stop. I do NOT have a lead foot. This can be avoided if I only gently press on the pedal to start but that's not reasonable on daily based driving. It appears other people have had similar issues upon searching the forums.
Thanks,
Two issues on 2011 AWD SLS @ 2500 miles
I have a 2012 sls with the same clicking noise(sounds to me more like something in a cup rattling). It comes and goes for me. Heard that on 2011s the passenger side door panel was replaced on several for coming loose I believe

Interesting. Thanks I will look into that.
Azure Gray? I was debating between that and the platinum silver. In the end I picked the silver. But every now and then I saw an azure gray and wished I have gotten the gray instead ha. It looks great.

I had a much similar issue with my 2011 SLS. After returning it to the dealer, the issue was fixed. Apparently the way the dash mates together has a lip that fits inside another lip, this lip was not lined up correctly and was crooked rather than fitting inside each other which caused the creaking/rattling sound. Have your dealer check it out.ipaqxman wrote:I have owned a 2011 AWD SLS for about 6 months, with approximately 2500 miles (I don't drive much).
