The reason why I dont want to use USB port is cus I listen to chinese and japanese songs. For NA kizashi, the display doesn't support either languages so I ended up with unreadable song titles, artists etc. But USB has far better sound quality than bluetooth hands down.gmkizashi wrote:Northernstar, unless I missed something or you don't want to do it this way, doesnt your device have a USB cable?? If so, you could use the USB port. The other option of using a flash drive also seems good. Apologies if you already know this. I can understand why you would rather do wireless.
As an aside, it seems my speakers don't jump around as much when I use the USB on the iphone versus bluetooth, but that's a whole other thread.
pss. not an apple guy on computers, but I broke down and got an ipod years ago and i love it. Some models are almost free now here in the US when you sign on the dotted line.

Just bought a GTS yesterday. Plugged in my Blackberry into the USB and it charges. But when I push the USB button on the RF head unit - nothing. Couple of questions from experienced users. Can I go through USB to play my mp3's on my blackberry or do I need to stream it using Bluetooth? Also, can I play from internet radio using Bluetooth or USB connection? I thought perhaps my connection cable is charge only and I need a data/charge cable...don't know...
I have an HTC Trophy Windows Phone 7.
I first tried the USB port. The phone isn't recognized. And it seems to no longer charge after that? Not a big deal bought a little USB charger and put it in the arm rest.
I then tried Bluetooth streaming. It works. The sound quality is less than stellar. I do turn up the volume all the way and that helps. I kinda gave up on this for music.
I moved my stuff onto 4GB Memory sticks. And bought a couple really small ones so the door will shut.
As for Bluetooth I use it for phone calls, texting, and podcasts. One thing my phone does is when a Text comes in it streams it via Bluetooth. The phone gives you options like 'read it' or 'ignore' also once read you can 'reply'. It works fairly well. Voice composition of a text isn't a perfect science on any phone. The GPS maps from the phone's voice instructions come across in Bluetooth. Also, if I click on a voice to text feature - like text composition or searching (like Siri) that all works through Bluetooth.
I do wish my ZuneHD would hook up to USB. But, a few bucks for 4GB memory stick isn't the end of the world.

I found the USB cable for data and charging and the Head Unit recognized the USB device but when I press the USB function on the unit it says 'Unsupported USB Device' on the display. Guess I'll have to Bluetooth the Blackberry or buy memory sticks.
My mp3 player from the Blackberry works fine in the car now but Slacker Radio wouldn't stream for some reason. I was having connection problems so I think it will work like Pandora or other internet streaming services. Took about five minutes and I wasn't sure it was working correctly but it ended up being just fine. Sweet setup, Suzuki!
Ok, everything is working via Bluetooth except sound from internet radio (Slacker/Pandora). Well, I haven't tried Pandora. I can control songs from the steering wheel on the Blackberry and have my settings correct but I can't get any audio to play through the system. My mp3 files play fine, though. Anyone have any ideas?
Windows Phone 7 appears to stream music and podcasts fine. However, I couldn't get the YouTube app to stream via Bluetooth.
Though I'm fairly unimpressed by the Bluetooth sound quality. I put the music on memory sticks. I stream podcasts, phonecalls, and texts via Bluetooth.

So all I need to buy is USB sticks and put music in it? Can the car play all types of music file or only certain type? (like mp3, wav, wma, etc) Also, will the USB stick gets hot if you let it connect to the USB port for long time? (let's say 1 hour)MNSLS wrote:Windows Phone 7 appears to stream music and podcasts fine. However, I couldn't get the YouTube app to stream via Bluetooth.
