Hi everyone.

My current ride is a 2012 Suzuki Kizashi GTS AWD, and I think I'm in love with my car. I've been a Suzuki owner on and off, this being my fourth "genuine" Zuk (no Daewoo's here). I had an X-90, followed by an SX4 AWD (my wife still has one), and now the Kizashi. There seems to a great deal of useful info on this site. I'm happy to be onboard.

Hey, I was a few years ago. I traded my SX4 for the new 2012 Hyundai Veloster. I actually had the first one sold in Pennsylvania. After the about 5 months, I thought I had made a big mistsake and traded the Veloster for the Kizashi. I've never looked back since. Nothing about the Veloster is in the same league as the Kizashi, except the mpg's. Club SX4 is a pretty informative site. As I said in my opening post, my wife still has an '09 SX4 AWD, yep, for about three years we had two parked in our driveway. Were are you located? I'm outside the Carnegie area.

I live right outside of Saxonburg and work on the north shore. I also have a 2009 SX4 crossover, AWD with the 5 speed manual. It is primarily my wifes snow transportation. She drives a smart most of the time. I have a 2010 Kizashi "S" AWD, same color as yours. Just turned 20K miles. The Kizzy is a lot of car for the money, and after 2 years i like it even more than when i bought it.

We're like twins from other mothers. My '09 SX4 had the Technology package with the 5spd manual. My wife has the '09 Touring 5spd. For the money, they are pretty good little cars, but I really like my Kizashi. I thought the SX4 was very good in the snow, how would you compare the two AWD systems? It sounds like the Kizashi is like the SX4 in lock-mode full time. Plus, it has the ability to transfer power front/back and side-to-side.

OK, i have to ask. What color is the wifes 09 touring(mine is also a touring)?
I actually don't see much of a difference between the 2. I put winter tires all the way around on both of them, so they are pretty much unstoppable. The SX4 does have an extra inch+ of ground clearance, which would help in extra deep snow. Otherwise, there has never been a snow covered hill that either car couldn't climb, including my driveway, which is quite steep.
I was happy with the deals i got on both of my cars, especially the Kizzy. I got mine for $17,900 brand new. They are a great value, and best of all, they are not a Honda!

My wife's SX4 is Azure Grey. I'm with you on the Honda deal, likewise with Toyotas. Yeah, I really missed my SX4 last winter, even though we didn't get much snow, it ran circles around the Veloster. I'm really happy to be in the Kizashi. It's definitely the best ride I've owned, and you know how Pittsburgh is, hills everywhere you turn, and it doesn't take much snow to make things interesting.

Small difference, we have a Sunlight copper SX4. I love the styling of the veloster, but i figured it wouldnt be all that great in the snow, especially with the tires that it comes with. I am a big believer in winter tires. Although our Suzukis will go great in the snow, they don't stop or steer better than anything else, unless there are winter tires on it. My wife and i both drive long enough distances that i want to give us every advantage possible to come through winter unscathed.

I have a neighbor that has a SX4 in the Sunlight Copper, it's a pretty sharp car. Yes, the Veloster was actually a very nice, well built car, but it did have a few problems. It's build quality was IMO, much better than the SX4. Honest. However, it had a few problems that could not be resolved. After an ECM reflash, it still had terrible hesitation. But the biggest problem was the audio system. It was based on Windows CE, and did not play nice with my Mac formatted CDs and USB flash drive. Very frustrating after a few months. Since the Kizashi move, I really have never looked back, and we haven't even had any snow yet. The veloster was very poor in any amount of slush. It had 215/40series on 18's. Like a rubber band around the rims. I work in town near the Strip District, we should hook up some day.
