Hey guys. For those of you who don't remember, I fell off the site a few months back as I got another car. I never owned the kizashi, but had it for a week and a half test drive. Long story short, the dealer I went to buy it from dinged the car up before I took delivery. They offered to fix it, but I had to wait a week for the shop to get to it. They let me drive the car until then. They never fixed it bc they said it was too expensive. So I never fully enjoyed the car bc it was damaged and didn't feel like "mine." I wish I had kept it to be honest. So I am back in the market now.
I have tried three suzuki dealers two of which said that they don't lease Suzukis. Is this normal? The third dealer said that they can't give me a lease quote bc Suzuki finance isn't set up to give quotes unless they know your credit score. I have never heard of having to apply for financing to get a quote on a monthly lease payment.
So my question is this....
I have an offer on a new 2012 AWD sls with nav. 23,000 dollars.
I am underwater on my trade which would bring the financed total to about 25,000 even.
Is 23k on this car a good price, and, is anyone leasing right now? If so, what is your lease payment if you were financing between 23-25k?
Thanks,
Ethan
Is what my dealer says actually true?
is the car new or used? I picked up a new one 2012 sls awd a month ago and got it for $25,450 - sticker was $29,100. I think I did fine because I reserched it a lot and according to the web in my area people are paying $25,500 for this car new. Not sure about leasing as I never looked into it.
Did the dealer accept your offer of $23,000? That seems low to me but if you can get it take it. Also be aware that the dealer play games when you have a trade, they will lower the price at one end but raise it at the other end... it's tough to understand sometimes. I did not have a trade an paid in full so it was a bit easier. My total expense out the door including tax, registration, dealer fees was $27,400.
Car negotiating 101. Always negotiate sale price first. Then let them look at your trade.
Rule two: Never deal in person first. Always go through the internet team. Then walk in once they quote you a price and start working with a floor salesman. Then let him know you were working with the internet team. The internet price is always lower than a floor price from the jump off. The two may begin trying to compete with one another.
Rule Three: Always have at least two appraisals on your trade and one from a direct competitor. I have a quote from one Suzuki dealer and the other is from a car company that badly needs to sell cars.....GM. Pick a car that has terrible sales and act interested....I did a buick regal GS. They offered me over 10% on KBB value on the trade.
Rule Four: Once you have negotiated on the Kizashi (very low demand car) make sure your are under invoice for the vehicle. A car like the kiz does not sell well. There is absolutely zero need to pay over invoice for it.
Then negotiate your trade. And make sure you say you will go to the competitor if they don't at least match your highest appraisal. Be ready to walk, and then deal with internet team later if need be.
Right now this car has 5,056 dollars in incentives and rebates plus 72 months no interest financing.
I just offered them 21,500 on the car they have listed for 23,500.
Im positive that I can walk away with this car for under 22,500.

2011 6spd. Kizashi Sport SLS. Azure Gray Metallic.
So. the dealer is listing a brand new 2012 SLS AWD w/nav for 23,500. Seems too good to be true.
Maybe I missed it, but did you check the odometer?
I'm wondering if this car had been damaged while in the possession of the dealership. Just an odd thought.
Ask other dealers about leasing thru Suzuki. It's odd they wont lease, but most dealers can set up a lease with a bank, if they don't with the Manufacturer. The bank - or Suzuki - or whoever does the lease actually purchases the car from the dealer. They will want clean paperwork on that vehicle. So if there is something wrong on the car's record, no deal.
Anyway, I lease my 2011 - same specs - 25,900 cap cost - 385/mo no money down.
I gotta say 72mo/no interest sounds good. Good luck!

The price does seems low, but if is real jump on it. BTW I just looked at the dealer web site and they have 2 sls kisashi, one for $23,937 and the other for $23,812. they offer $5,132 in rebates which is very good. I think you can not take the rebate and the 0% finazing - you have to choose one or the other.
