Recommendation for a suzuki dealership/shop in Northeast?
Hi, I'm in the NYC area. Been having some issues with my 6K SLS. Yet cuz of busy work schedule, never had chance to really get things fully addresses. The dealership I bought the car from doesn't sell suzuki no more and pretty much told me I'm SOL. The closest dealership to me sorta blew me off. Another dealership I went to did spend the time to diagnose one of the rattles and fixed it but has not addressed some other issues. Have a one week vacation coming up and hoping to use it to take it to a dealership/shop that actually knows about this rare car n willing to spend the time to diagnose the problem. Willing to go out of town as long as in Northeast, so looking for recommendations/experiences from forum members. First dealer I took the car to did not know that it was a CVT and told me suzuki fixed lots of Kizashi issues after the 2009 model (yes he said 2009). Last tank of gas in stop and go traffic, with gramma style driving and hypermiling effort... 17mpg. Thanks.

Further away but 5 Star Suzuki in Altoona, PA or State College, PA are regarded as the best dealerships in the North East. I know they always go the extra mile for my kizzy.

thx for the input. Will look into those. Hopefully I don't have to go as far as State College. NJdriver which one of those do you take your car to? Does the service department actually seem like they know about the car. The dealerships around me are not true dedicated Suzuki places, they sell lota other brands / used cars, so literally know less about the car than I do... which is disheartening when you have to explain to them what some of the stuff in the car is.

I purchased the vehicle from Wayne - only took it there for the complimentary oil change - but them seemed pretty buttoned up. They are a dual dealership also selling Ford/Lincolns.
I've never used the Bergen dealership, but they are a dedicated Suzuki dealer. I visited their dealership when working on purchasing my Kiz and they seemed on the ball.
The only reason i went with Wayne was they were closer to me.
Hope this helps - let me know how it works out for you.

I bought my sls from Napoli suzuki in Milford CT. Very satisfied with the purchase, also had some dealer accesories installed by the service department and they did a nice profesional job since then I have gone back to buy more parts and Im happy with them - going next month for my first complimentary oil change... Whats wrong with your car?
Thanks. My SLS was perfect for the first half a year or 3K but since it's been giving me headache whenever i DRIVE it. The exterior and interior still make me grin everytime I walk to / into the car cuz it's a beautiful car and meticulously well kept. The car makes a short engine rattle sound upon startup 30 seconds after startup every AM, apparently exactly the same as a video clip uploaded by another user here in the past, which was supposedly fixed as a loose gasket (not even sure what that is), but i've had trouble contacting the user for details due to his inactivity. And the acceleration is just not smooth and vibrates horridly from stop, esp at low RPM (i've read that it can be secondary to the CVT but it makes the center console's trim resonate pretty loud), unfortunately this is difficult to "duplicate / show" to dealers. And the car runs at 17mpg city, 23mpg mixed... Which i am assuming is all related... Hopefully. Yes I do hope i will someday enjoy this car as you all do otherwise i might need to sell it and eat the depreciation cost.

Sounds like it could be a difficult diagnosis. Don't leave Green Brook NJ Suzuki out of consideration for warranty service. They maintain a good inventory of Kizashis and their Suzuki repair service sees them. I haven't been there for a while, but they have done a good job for me. It is out on Route 22. You can and should make an appointment if you go.
I also have been to Wayne, NJ for change of tire (winter to summer, with TPMS monitoring programming) and to try and diagnose a winter squeaking noise. While the place is nice, there are some quirks. For example, at least for my service visits, the service receptionists would not take an appointment. The wait was long, especially since they forgot about the car. And they only have one Suzuki tech (seemingly a good one). But they do very much aim to please.
So there you have it.
