Okay, I just decided the most annoying feature of my Kizashi. It's not major.
In New Jersey, gas is full service. That is, the attendant pumps the gas. And at just about every visit I have to direct the attendant how to open the filler lid. It never fails. He'll push, tap, poke, signal me to press the remote release, until I tell him to press the side in. This must be the only car with this lid mechanism.
Anyone else experience this?
Most (mildly) annoying feature...

Not sure why it is so complicated, ya push the left side and it pops out, much better then having to pull a lever, and it locks when in drive, so no worries. So you can't pump your own gas? How much extra do they charge for that?

They don't charge anything extra for that here in New Jersey. Our gas is cheap compared to elsewhere, probably a function of some ample nearby refinery supply. Nice touch.

It's certainly a shame that something so simple is the cause of frustration to the point of placing a post in a forum such as this. Why on god's green earth NJ still requires 'attendants' to pump gas is a true mystery. Many, many, many moons ago as a kid I worked at full service stations in PA. When the 'quality' door releases that were available back then failed to 'pop' the door (more times than they would actually work), you learned quickly to simply push the front forward facing edge of the door to assist it opening. No big deal, no frustration. Apparently we are digressing rapidly as a learning and adapting species. Maybe if they said open-says-a-me or initiate an app on a dumb phone it'll open on its own. I know...the car can sense that it pulled in to a fuel station and automatically open itself! We can do that, of course it will add another 10 cents a gallon to pay for all the overheard. I better keep quiet....the next Gov Mandated 'safety' feature to increase vehicle costs some more....

LMAO, I mostly fill in Jersey, and let me tell you, this is a sore point for me. I've had attendants grunt at me, telling me to pop the door. Most of the attendants at the exxon I usually go to have learned the trick. But yes, very annoying that it is not a typical door. I almost decided to put a big red arrow saying "PUSH HERE" lol.

Oregon has the same policy of attendants pumping gas. Coming from California, the first time I drove here I got out of the car to pump the gas. The attendant came up to me and, without looking at my plates, said: from California, eh? You don't do that here. Now living in Oregon, the last time I went back to Ca. and needed gas I sat in the drivers seat for a couple of minutes waiting on the attendant...Sheepishly I got out and pumped the gas.
And yes about 10 to 20 percent of the time I run into attendants that ask to open the gas filler door.

I drove a Mercedes-Benz E350 for a few days that had a similar gas cap door. It took me quite a while to figure it out since it was not my car, but one I was using.
Much like the Kizashi, all it required was you to push in the gas cap door.
Keep in mind that the gas cap door is locked when your car doors are locked.
