How many Aussie Kizashi owners are out there?

The Kizashi should soon show up in Australia. We look forward to seeing members from your region.

Hi - no theres no brand name on the sat nav system - it is a garman. I have looked through all the listings for my 13 models -and there is another dealership that is offering the newer updates on the car - with the stereo system - which is kinda why I have a case against them, coz they told me it was in there. Umm dont know if its true about the new model - I dont think any specs are different - just the updates inside - not as a factory option -but standard. They dont even have it registered on the insurance updates either. I didnt get the great sound system - and really noticed it when I cranked up the volume. The car I test drove did -and it was a feature that i loved. They did give me 5 years warranty with an extended 3 years if I had the car serviced through them. Any one else having probs pairing their phone? mine only downloads about 6 names and thats it!

Hi all. I have posted a few questions on this forum but I have yet to introduce myself.

I live in Melbourne and I have picked up a slightly used mineral grey Kizashi (prestige) around a month ago. The car drives beautifully and it is a shame that I had a few issues with the car. Nothing to do with Suzuki. It is the dealer using some dodgy wheel cleaners to clean the car resulting in the discoloration of the rims.

On average I see two kizashis on the road per week. The car deserves to be more popular but people seems to stick with their camrys.

Regarding the loss of the better stereo in the my13 models, there is the circular hole in the parcel shelf (under the carpet) and some capped off leads near it. I know the lead thing has been covered in another thread but you would like to think that with an amp and sub-woofer added the 'new' system would put out a reasonable sound!? Techy types could advise maybe?? David...(Murcod)...? Who knows all ;)

As far as numbers of Kizza's in your area is concerned...on my drives up and down the coast on the highway, I might see one or two, sometimes none, so definately a bit of a rarity. But where I live, population around a thousand, we have 4 in our village...! I reckon, per head of pop., we've got the numbers to beat...

Don't know what to say about sales of Kizashi being so low. Apparently sales were less in 2012 compared to 2011, (what's wrong with people) and with Suzuki in the US going kind of pear shaped and seemingly Maruti in India packing up...are we a dying breed...

If the sound system you've got is anything audio quality wise like the stock seven speaker system in the Touring then you'll really notice the difference. I've always said that upgrading a factory head unit is money wasted, but the Kizashi proved me wrong..... it really lacks power.
The Kenwood GPS head unit is much better than the stock Touring head unit; I managed to score one off Ebay for a really good price. Definitely push for the better speaker (if nothing else) as the standard speakers (non Rockford Fosgate) aren't the best quality if you like a bit of volume.
You'll probably find the subwoofer hole in the boot parcel shelf has had a steel plate welded over it (it has in my Touring), but there might be a pair of speaker wires running to it?
I assume you'll curently have the same speakers as my Touring- they're okay for factory speakers, but don't work well if you like a bit of volume. (Be warned, you'll most likely find you'll need to add an amplifier with the Rockford Fosgate speakers to get decent results. It's all to do with speaker sensitivity levels, some need more power for the same volume level....)
I found my phone (a HTC) paired fine with the Kenwood system. I've been able to stream music from it too.

Ditto on my HTC phone. Pairs instantly and completely every time...

Hi all, thanks for your replies. Very interesting to read that it may still be ok to just simply slot the speakers in. :D I'm pushing for the speakers. They said they will let me know on Monday,as I complained on Friday and they said they won't hear back from head office till then. The outcome had better be good,as the sound system has got nothing on the beautiful fosgate system I was told I was getting.!

Better to push for the amplifier as well then! It is part of the Rockford Fosgate system, after all.... ;)

ok - so the update on the car speaker issue..................
Suzuki have denied liability for it and say that the rockford fostgate was not in my contract -so they are not willing to do anything. They actually told me that it was a grey area with Suzuki as they have not updated brouchers and its like Ive found a loop hole (although to me it wasnt a loop hole - its what I was told was in the car).......My boyfriend ended up visiting the dealership and let them know once again that it was told to me buy the sales man that it was part of the cars package. Lots of stuff was raised (too rude for this site) and basically threatened them with Consumer affairs - as we had a case under " false and misleading information" and I was prepared to go down that road. So to keep this short for the sake of you people reading it - they offered me these two choices (that the dealer will pay for) 1. They can order in the rockford system and install it - saying that it will take some time to get here ...2. I can get a custom sound system fitted by a local mob who specialise in car audio - and said it would be an even better system. What do you all think?? They are going to call me tomorrow and tell me what they are able to organise off the local mob -so far I'm happy with that - actually very pleased with that.

I think they would find retro fitting the full Rockford system very hard, the reason being I'm almost certain the wiring loom would be different. The Rockford system has an external amplifier mounted behind the boot carpet, whereas your current system has the speakers powered directly off the head unit (so there are fundamental differences in the way they are wired.) You'd also lose the reversing camera..... and GPS functionality.

Why don't you try pushing them for this system to be installed instead : http://www.suzuki.com.au/vehicles/model ... dia-unit-2
It's this system here http://www.eclipse-web.com/au/products/ ... avn/827ga/ and streets ahead of what you'd currently have (especially for power output) and get them to fit the Rockford speakers in the doors only? You get to keep the GPS, reversing camera and get a high quality head unit and the Rockford speakers (except for the subwoofer.) Even if you could get them to only fit the head unit and pay for better speakers later yourself (- if you're not happy with the sound.)

If you go for the local audio shop option a lot of $$$ will possibly be chewed up in installation costs and you'd want to check what sort of $$$ the dealer would allow you to spend.

Food for thought. It of course depends on what functionality you value most in a head unit.

Good luck, it looks like it will work out in your favour either way, :)
