I suggest tinting your windows. Benefits include:
- Reduced cabin temperature in the summer.
- Added security from reducing view of interior and occupants.
- UV rays blocked.
- Enhanced aesthetics.

My Kizashi is the first car I ever got tinted and what a difference it makes regarding heat and UV blockage.

x2 on the tint. They also make very light shades (75-85%) of tint that still block UV rays if you don't like the tinted look

Yup. These are actually the percentage grade you can even use on your windshield. The shop I got mine done offered up to 50% on the front windshield. It's not a bad idea if you drive for a living. I recall seeing commercial trucks getting tints at the shop too.

I did not get my front windshield tinted. I got all others done at 40% ceramic tints and I'm very happy with them. I may get my back window redone, but only so I can fix a defrost line that I busted before the tints. No fault on the tint shop.

They're pretty cranky and fairly anal about 'tint' here in Vermont; cops target tinted rides.

I've decided to simply wear my Bell Star when driving :geek:

So the biopsy's done, and the doc said "it doesn't look like the kind that kills ya", and I'll be finding out results and treatment shortly.

I ain't worried 'cause I'm SO fair-skinned that as a driver I kinda expected the common left side issues.
Beside, I smoke, and even worse, you should see how I drive!

Hopefully that doesn't change. My dad lost his fight with cancer (started as melanoma) last year.

Yeah, cancer is no joke. Hopefully everything works out! I'd still get tint for reassurance though. Check out Llumar Air 80 or Neutral AU 85. They're so light I doubt you'll have any problems with the police. I'm sure other brands have similar models

DC has strict tint laws: 70% fronts and 50% for rest. I see cars all the time with tints darker than mine (40% all around). The cops don't care unless you are young and black. I've even heard of cops admitting to people they know that tints are just an excuse to pull people over to check them out.

Also, there are medical exceptions to tint laws. You can get a doctor to sign off on dark tints for protection from UV rays. If you are getting symptoms of skin cancer, even in the mildest form, I'm sure you can get this exception.

After having tried tints, I'll never go back. They are almost the difference between being in the shade and being in the sun, especially in hot summer days.

I live in Vancouver. I have asked Canadian Tire about the tint by-law in B.C. I was told that there are no limitation of the %, however, absolutely no tint in the front.

First, I want to thank those who offered kind thoughts and words.
But I got the letter from the doc today and the thing is a benign keratosis.
So, for now, I'm good.

Whew, ay?
