I spoke with Toney at Jeff D'Ambrosio Suzuki and send him a pic of the molding.

Interesting. I always thought the molding was a flat stick-on, but your photos make it look like the door has a recessed part behind the molding. If there is no hole then a repair is not necessary to the door. It sounds like the bullet was in the area between the molding and the door, but did not penetrate the actual door.

I guess it's up to you whether to fix out of pocket with the moldings sold as accessories or get it done at a body shop through insurance. Glad to see the damage was not too bad and that the car was vacant at the time.

I've looked into the chrome door trim before (Sport model envy...) and found out that the chrome trim that's available as an accessory is not the same as what's on the Sport model. The Sport model has a thick "door blade" (pardon the Audi jargon) that also includes a frame under the chrome (between the chrome and bottom of the door) that is color matched. I believe both are still simply stuck to the door using tape/adhesive.

Here is the chrome trim accessory:

Compared to the Sport model's thicker door blade (note the plastic frame below the chrome, and how the chrome is flatter and thicker):

Thanks for clearing this up. This was my suspicion, but I wasn't sure. Looks like one may have to go through a dealer/body shop to get the OEM chrome strip for the Sport models.

Took advantage of the weather we're having and aired up my tires from 34 PSI to the recommended 38 PSI. My girlfriend commented on how the dealership cheaped out on air

I also removed the factory wheel locks and they're for sale here: http://www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewto ... =10&t=2929

Are we sure this isn't just a difference in the model years? My wife's GST is exactly like the top picture which appears to also be a 2010 model. (judging by the wheels) The bottom pictures appear to be a newer sport model SLS. If I'm correct (and that almost never happens...) The newer sport models had a subtle change in body work from the 2010's which included the chrome strip...

You're right, I didn't realize the 2010 models were like that. 2011 and up got all the goodies. The more you know!

So the shot up Kizashi has the newer style chrome trim and the accessory trim is the older style

My recently purchased 2010 SLS fosgate rockford sub woofer has a rattle. I phoned the sales manager. This is the 5th Suzuki I bought from them. They're great cars. He's going to contact me today. The speaker is difficult to remove having to take apart the whole rear window liner section. I have the Zurich insurance plan so it may pay for it.Since I only had it a week the dealer may take responsibility for the cost. My son has a Mitsubishi Lancer GT and I prefer the Kazashi, it's just as fast, handles comparably and has a nicer interior. No wing, but I don't plan on going faster then 180 mph ha ha. Anybody's speaker ever need replaced?

My RF sub had the same rattle. They had to tighten the mounting bolts and was done under warranty.
