Kizashi Do-dads
Which one did you get? What's it look like in real life? Like the picture?WIKizashi wrote:I found a seller on Amazon that has some officially licensed Kizashi and Suzuki key chains and license plates. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aag/main?ie=UT ... CV4J6ENM7Y. I got one of the key chains and it's pretty nice.
Hey, what's this?!?! Kizashi 3?

Prototype we never knew about? Look at those exhaust finishers and location!
This was the last of the three Kizashi concepts.SamirD wrote:

There were three that Suzuki released and all were called the Kizashi. One was a wagon (Kizashi Concept), the second a cross-over (Kizashi Concept 2) and the last was the sedan that you see (Kizashi Concept 3). The sedan was the concept vehicle that set the design for the production model.
Here are all the Kizashi concepts.

Here's a video on them.
Towards the end, the presenter talks about the Kizashi concept sedan and how it's a 300HP 3.6 liter V6 with a 6 speed auto and AWD. Quite different from production model.

I think all of that stuff was supposed to be GM sourced. At the time they were still working with GM.
I dunno. I think that wagon concept is sweet.KansasKid wrote:I'm glad they got their wits about them and decided to go with the third one.

Thank God this didn't happen or the cars we love might have been just rebadged Malibus.Moto wrote:I think all of that stuff was supposed to be GM sourced. At the time they were still working with GM.

Na, GM would have supplied the powertrains like the engine and maybe the transmission. While I don't think the J24B engine we have is anything bad, the Kizashi would have been a better if it had a larger/forced induction engine option.SamirD wrote: Thank God this didn't happen or the cars we love might have been just rebadged Malibus.
After GM dissolved their stake in Suzuki, Suzuki sought VW for some powerplants but that deal fizzled too. Hence, the Kizashi and other larger Suzukis like the Grand Vitara ended up with the 2.4 liter engine that was Suzuki's own.
Also, I must say I like that white crossover Kizashi quite a bit.

I'm kinda glad the vw deal didn't happen too as vw stuff can be so difficult to work on. Japanese simplicity is nice.KuroNekko wrote:Na, GM would have supplied the powertrains like the engine and maybe the transmission. That crossover's wheels are interesting. Especially the curb rash protecting 'fangs' that overhang the tire.
