Hello everyone. I finally got one.

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

I'd say "AWD or nothing", but that's just the way I roll.........through mud  and snow.

I have said it before, and will say it again, what the hell is wrong with the CVT box. It is by far the best auto I have driven, and after speaking to my friend who runs Suzuki parts UK, there has been no reports of any CVT failure in the UK.

Some people don't like the way CVTs transmit power to the wheels. It's unlike conventional automatics and quite different from the direct engagement of manual transmissions. As for reliability, just about any automatic is susceptible to problem more so than a manual transmission due to its greater complexity and generation of heat. However, it's not to say that the CVT in the Kizashi is bad. Reports of problems are apparently low plus to have AWD, you have to have the CVT. I simply went with the manual because I prefer MTs and I don't really need AWD where I live. I simply get more out of the MT than I would with AWD. Regardless of the transmission, I think the Kizashi is a fine vehicle and very impressive for the price.

What Kuro said exactly. CVT's drive differently than convential automatics. You have to drive the CVT a certain way or otherwise it feels like it has no power. The car definitely does not respond well to when you just mash your foot down that is for sure. I like my CVT SLS but I am aware that some people aren't into it.

My test drive of a CVT SLS almost turned me off to the car entirely. Good thing I found my 6MT for sale the very next day. Significant difference in the driving experience between the two.

I quite like my CVT SLS. As I said you have to learn to drive it. A slight press down then the car will go and accerate on its own. Its not for everyone but I like it and the AWD comes in handy for the midwest winters we get.

I never said anything was wrong with the CVT. I did not purchase the car for other reasons also. The seller was asking about 1,700 more than book value. I also spotted my 6 Speed for about $600 bucks more with 30,000 less miles, fully loaded. I only passed up the CVT up because Suzuki Automotive is slowly tipping out of the U.S. and they show no signs that they'll ever return. I even hesitated to buy my 6Speed GTS because of Suzuki leaving. My first Kizashi test drive ever was a 2010 SE CVT. I wanted the car sooooooo bad but I could not afford the 400 car note that came with it. The CVT does not bother me. I did consider it failing though. The CVT that I wanted had 80,000 miles on it, which is not bad at all. But, reading reviews about failing CVT's I decided to steer away from paying for a car for 3 years with a bankrupt company and with the chance of a CVT failure. My friend has a CVT model. 106,000 miles and not a problem with the CVT yet. However, if the first seller had lowered the price, I probably would've taken the CVT model, because I would've financed it for less.
