Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

That's a (yearly?) safety inspection for those of us who don't speak English very well.

Do you have a U.S or state equivalent ?

The states have their own vehicle inspections. The actual inspection is required when you first register a vehicle. After that, it can vary by state how often you have your car inspected. Also, there is separate emissions testing. That is usually more frequently and can be required every other year or so in some states.
I know different governments have different inspections. Japan's is very strict to the point where many people opt to get a new car every few years than to worry about keeping their old car up to spec with their stringent inspections.

After the car is three years old we have to have a M O T every year, and this includes an emissions test.

Pennsylvania has annual vehicle safety inspection (all counties) and annual emissions testing (most if not all counties).

Yes, we have a bewildering array of rules and regulations as a result of each State/County having their hands in.

It was just the term "MOT" that I was trying to clarify.

Anyway, two weeks into owning the Cascada it is hard not to be impressed, although I still miss the Kizi badly. The level of refinement and the accompanying mpg is brilliant. but It's not as much fun as the Kizi, and rather than make me want to drive like an idiot, it encourages me to be sensible. I would have to say that if I was offered either as a gift, I would go for the Cascada, but from a value for money point of view, the Kizi wins hands down. Perhaps the ideal car is a mixture of both !!

Well, a month in. It would be hard for anyone that has owned both cars not say that the Cascada id technically a better car, albeit very different. The Cascada's great strength is it's comfort and refinement. Whilst a convertible, it's far from a sports car, and is far more like a luxury saloon with a soft top. It's MPG is amazing, and it's ride is better than any car I have ever owned. What it lacks is the attitude of the Kizi. The Kizi was far from the fastest car on earth, but you know it aspires to be, and that's what counts. At mid speed cruising it always wants to go faster, and show off a bit. I wish I could afford to run both cars, and chose the one that suits my mood, but I can't !!

The picture distortion suggests to me that you used a 35 mm lense and went up close. Here is a link to the Buick: http://www.buick.com/cascada-luxury-con ... seo=ysm_|_[account+name]_|_GMNA|US|BUI|BING|S|BD|DT|BMM|BRD|CAS|LSP|0|0|NA|NA|NA_|_Model+Overview_|_%2Bcascada

I doubt there is going to be much natural demand here in the U.S. for a soft-top, maybe on the west coast. The mpg sure is a head turner, though, and with diesel fuel prices lower than regular fuel perhaps demand will be sparked.

A diesel and a manual version of this car is likely never going to be sold in America. It will likely be only offered as a turbo gas with an automatic.

Yes, that is a much better picture. I think you will agree, it's a bit of a stunner
