Coolant for the Kizashi

Yes, and I think it's normal. The reservoir isn't pressurized so fluid can boil out and even evaporate over time. At the very top of the reservoir, you'll even find a little breather hole. I sometimes find dried coolant residue around the green fill cap too.
I purchased a gallon of Pentofrost A3 back when I started this thread due to my reservoir level being low. I used the A3 to fill it back up to Full. In the time that has passed since, my reservoir is back to Low again. I think it's normal as I've seen this sort of thing happen on my other cars without pressurized reservoirs.

I noticed the radiator draincock was not as snug as it could be so I tightened it a bit. Maybe there's a small leak there? I've seen the same residue on my overflow bottle as well. The fluid looks good so I'm sure I'm good for another 10K when it comes up on maintenance to be replaced. The gallon I bought will go in my wife's Odyssey as well.

That's exactly what was happening with ours until I found a tiny, tiny leak from the hose connecting to the reservoir on the reservoir side.

Coolant expands with heat, so it will expand and sometimes can go above the high mark where it is just dripped out of the reservoir. But if it is regularly being dripped out of the reservoir, then there could be air in the system. This can happen if you had low coolant (below the filler neck) and refilled completely. That can cause air bubbles in the system that need to bleed out.

OK guys I am finally going to get antifreeze. I have read this thread and was just about to order Pentofrost A3 blue from AutoZone and figured I should double check what color antifreeze I have in my Kiz. I was assuming it was blue just like everyone else and to my surprise I have green antifreeze. It must be OE because I'm the original owner. It is a 2010 S Kizashi with manual transmission. Now I have read some more about antifreeze and read about OAT and GOAT and you should not mix antifreeze types. I thought maybe I should just get some antifreeze that says it works with any type antifreeze just to be safe. I looked up some (any type) Prestone and it is yellow and another brand is pink. I did find some Pentofrost A2 green that says. "Pentofrost A2 is mixable with all phosphates oats". Now I'm sure if I have OAT type antifreeze or not. Any suggestion?

I think the factory fill for all Kizashis was Super Blue so if you're the original owner yet it has green, perhaps the coolant was topped off or changed with the green type during a prior service. Is the coolant green even inside the radiator and just not in the overflow reservoir?

As for the type of coolant to get, you won't have to worry about mixing if you're doing a proper flush. You essentially want to drain the old coolant, refill with water, run the engine, and then flush. Repeat a few times until the drained fluid is quite clear to show most of the old coolant has been flushed out and it's now mostly water. You then put in the coolant of your choice (Super Blue is the recommended type).

UPDATE:
I dipped a white napkin into the antifreeze to get a better look at the color & ii appears it is not green but blue. I refilled with Pentofrost A3 blue.

thanks to all for useful info about kizashi coolant.my car is around 100K mile and I think it's time to change coolant I am original owner of car and current coolant is SLL blue OEM from factory. my problem is that there is no reliable blue coolant in my area.Is it OK (with proper flush that KuroNekko explained) to use SLL coolant from toyota and lexus?
toyota SLL coolant is RED I believe.

A good rule of thumb is to never mix coolant colors since they are of a different makeup. Also, don't try to fix what isn't broken--if your coolant still looks blue, doesn't look dirty, and seems to be in good shape, just leave it alone. Our cars have a lot of things that are well built and don't need as much servicing.

Yes SamirD it still blue I took some sample while ago and it is dark blue and so far no overheat problem with my car :drive:
