The Trunk will not close. It started as intermittent issue but now not closing at all.
First off a couple of presses on the manual release button under steering wheel seemed to "reset" the lock. I can still physically move the latch up. Wondering if it's stuck open and cause? Replaced battery in key fob. No change. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!

You should be able to manually actuate the latch with your fingers to see if it's latching properly.

I have a "problem" with it too.
*Its not opening on the RC
-Under steering button works fine and opens the trunk up for about 50%
-Button under de trunk works fine and just releases it so you can open it further yourself

Based upon Tom's description of operation (or lack thereof), sounds like another solenoid/motor driven electro-mechanical device sticking/faltering with age/use...much like the steering column locks. Simple keyed locks would be far better all around IMHO. Remove, diagnose, repair or replace. Hopefully this gadget has only 2 wires operating it as opposed to the 4-wire column locks.

Are you holding the button down on the fob? It has to be held down for a few seconds to release it. The other two sound like they're working properly, so that seems to be an issue with the fob. Maybe a low battery isn't sending the signal far enough?Tom Kizzie wrote:I have a "problem" with it too.

I suppose I should stop assuming folks know how to use the features when asking for help...carry on.

I should mention it here that the panic button works the same way. You have to hold it down for a few seconds for it to work. Full disclosure: I didn't know this either because I didn't test it prior to the one time I really needed it. I was in a rough neighborhood for work and parked at a small strip mall. Some young guys were loitering around my Kizashi and one even leaned on the rear bumper and placed his bottle on the trunk. When he and his friends took an interest in my car (as in the novelty of it), they started picking at the "Kizashi" emblem. I tried to set off the alarm but didn't realize I had to hold it down. Fortunately, the guys soon walked off on their own and didn't damage the car at all.Tom Kizzie wrote:thnx..it works. didnt know about holding it longer
