I was watching one of rocket_man's videos, and one of the sugegsted youtube videos was this one:

For all the things, Kizashi in the "lifetime" channel! What am I missing? I understand the car has to be advertised, and that some fellow owners are ladies, but the car apeal is mainly with guys looking for a sports sedan... am I that dumb to see the connection?

I think the appeal is not just for guys looking for a sports sedan, it's anyone looking for a reliable, and safe sports sedan that has lots of features for a reasonable price. You won't lose your man-card because the car is advertised on Lifetime

I dont make anything with you watching the Life Time Channel
And hey, girls are looking for a honest dependable car just like us. Though I have 200hp now!

Mods: Cat Back, Under Drive Pulley, Strut Tower brace, K&N Filter, Sony Xplode 6 1/2 4 way speakers in rear, blacked out S in front grill, American Racing Alloys.
Oh, it is nothing against the girls, in fact, a lady driving one of these cars would be a huge turn on, but that is a different subjectkizashigal wrote:I think the appeal is not just for guys looking for a sports sedan, it's anyone looking for a reliable, and safe sports sedan that has lots of features for a reasonable price. My main point is that the main target demographic for the Kizashi is not turbocharged moms

I saw this advertisement too. In somehow I do agree that Suzuki needs to do better job advertising the Kizashi. have you guys seen any kizashi ads on major networks and primetime hours, like fox or abc where they advertise toyotas and hondas?
You are right on the exposure of Suzuki - it is nest to nothing. If number 3 in japan wants to be anywhere over number 20 here - they are going to have to get the bean counters out of controlling their marketing efforts.
It looks like since they are not selling many cars, they are not willing to invest the dollars to better position themselves in the market. In that case, they never will.
The key word is "invest". they invested a lot to design and engineer the car - they need to look at marketing as a further investment to get them off of square one. A few other updated cars would help also. They set themselves back with their initial launch in the US with not very desirable cars that were not made by Suzuki.
Now back to the commercial - she didn't even mention the lag (ha ha), nor did she sneak off to a quiet service road (there are many in California where it looked like she was located) to really open it up.
Now if Suziki could get Dana Kirkpatrick in one of their commercials on a road course...and she would look great in a red one.

Oh thank you! We need a rose emoticon!kizashigal wrote:You can have your man card back since you said women driving a Kizzy is a turn on

In fact, if said lady drives MT, I would be hitting on her... oh wait, probably too much pushing the line for a "G" rated forum

Back into the subject, I had a good time watching the video. This lady Kristy is so bubbly, but doesn't strike me as too smart. Her drive was centered around the nav system, and while she mentioned "smooth" she never said "sporty"
Oh well, even if I don't agree, it is exposure for the car!

On a serious note, I see your location is Colorado. Have you stayed with the OEM tires? If not, and you have some winter driving experience on others, pleas post in the "winter tore' thread.

Only had the car a month, and first payment on it is coming shortly. I'll let ya know how the winter driving goes. Spending more money on tires is not in the cards presently.
