Got a Magnaflow 14210. Trying to figure out which way to go with my install and what local shop to use. I know this has been covered before, but looking for some further insight.

One shop quoted me around $200 for installing the new muffler. All stainless pipe adaptors, stainless hangers etc. I asked about removing the resonator, guy told me removing resonator was pointless. He said I would not notice a difference in sound or performance. The shop does good work, but it is pricey. All mandrell bent etc.

Other shop quoted me $100 for the muffler install and removing the resonator, but using aluminized steel. Most likely crush bent. These guys do good work too, kinda salt of the earth folks. The do a lot of truck exhausts and the like.

The consensus on the forum seems to be, if keeping stock pipe, removing the resonator and installing the Magnaflow will give an ideal volume level with a very slight performance increase. Seem correct?

Is stainless worth that much more?

What about a 2.25" cat back with the 14210? No resonator? Would that be crazy loud? I want more volume, but not to an annoying point. Would I loose low end torque?

Thanks all!

I have a catback exhaust deleted resonator with high flow muffler, if your driving a CVT it wont be ideal for the obvious reason
If you write wash on mycar I will carve resuscitate me on your chest.

If you're concerned about losing low-end torque, consulting with a local exhaust specialist who can assess your specific vehicle.
