Shuttering when stopping

If you feel shuttering from the steering wheel when braking... you could have warped rotors. Not sure about when in idle,... maybe a disconnected spark plug or a fouled plug. Just a guess! There are some really good mechanics on this forum so I know one of them will provide you a much better diagnosis than I ever could. Good luck!
It's a very common "feature" for CVT models to have the engine RPM to drop very low when coming to a stop and almost like the engine was going to stall. There may be a TSB on this. I think mine went away when the battery was replaced. This might be what you are experiencing.

LPSISRL makes an excellent point. I should have thought of that since I have a CVT in my SLS AWD. I know, I know, don't quit my day job. Well, it's golf and tennis now... so I won't.
Anyway, in my previous post I should have said there are a lot of "mechanically inclined Kizashi owners" vs "mechanics" on this forum that will provide you a much better diagnosis than I ever could.

This can happen also if something is just not perfect in the air intake system--loose connector, cover not completely on properly, gasket around filter leaking, etc.
Our car didn't have any sign of this issue until I took the entire air intake apart to try to change the driver's side low beam (I discovered that it can't be done this way even if the manual says so). After I put everything back together, the idle would dip at times.

I was noticing a slight vibration in the cabin from the engine while I was holding the brake at a stop light in my Kizashi. Letting off the break or shifting to neutral would fix it temporarily. Switching to 91 octane fuel seemed to stop this issue for me.WESHOOT2 wrote:I started burning premium fuel.
I also have a significant shuddering vibration in the steer wheel under light braking. Hard braking doesn't cause any shuddering. It's probably time for me to change my brake pads and grind down the rotors.
