Re: fuel pump shut off switch

I'm just a bit surprised that you bought the car used and had to replace the transmission to get it running properly instead of taking it back. Was the vehicle sold as-is with no warranty or policy for a refund? Given you spent thousands, I think you should really try to get a return on it for at le...

Re: fuel pump shut off switch

Yeah, the part about the overheat and loss of coolant has me worried about the head gasket.

Re: Odd stalling at idle RPMs after unusual start-up noise

perhaps it is just a loose or corroded battery terminal Nope. The terminals were on tight and I have no corrosion there. Also, the battery performance was fine as the car started normally after each stall. It would actually make more sense that the alternator was at fault as that powers a vehicle m...

Re: CVT fluid additive - anyone try this?

Eh, I'll defer to a pro about how things like this really work but I believe that if one changes the specified fluid at proper intervals, they never need additives like this. While I use products to flush and clean at times (like radiator flush or fuel system cleaners), I'm quite weary of additives ...

Re: Odd stalling at idle RPMs after unusual start-up noise

Pretty scary. Loss of power steering all of a sudden seems like a nightmare. Do you think this could be chalked up as another kind of shenanigan brought on by a dying battery? Is your battery in good health? I had a curiously long ignition last week. The kind that suggests a dying battery. Or a nee...

Odd stalling at idle RPMs after unusual start-up noise

Had an odd thing happen on Sunday. After getting coffee at a cafe, the Kizashi made an odd noise at start-up but the engine turned over fine. I then drove on the freeway for approximately 25 minutes but the car was driving a bit off. The engine appeared sluggish compared to normal but not of much co...

Re: How to change manual transmission fluid

While I have had no issues with MT-90 in my transmission, I think I'll try Red Line MTL next. It's a 75W-80 much like the factory fill. Are you still using this Red Line fluid, Kuro, and have you since made the switch to MTL? How had everything held up? And yes, I’m aware my post here contradicts a...

Re: Rearview mirror delaminating

I know what you're talking about but rarely see it because I've always used a JDM aftermarket wide-view mirror that clips over the stock mirror. I recall seeing the degradation of the stock mirror years ago but didn't really focus on it as I use my aftermarket mirror all the time anyway. I prefer th...

Re: 2nd tranny acting up - time to go?

Well the Suzuki Mechanic Guru at the dealer did the fluid change and said there was just normal residue in the filter but not metal chips. So he assured me I should be able to squeeze another year out of the car, so we'll see. It's never too soon to start doing my homework on EV comparison! Thanks ...

Re: 2nd tranny acting up - time to go?

@KuroNekko: Yeah, that's my hope. At least for another year or so. @KlutzNinja: I live near Co Springs and the former Suzuki dealer in town (McCloskey) is the one that carried on Suzuki warranties and specialized work, has their own Suzuki certified guru and has been doing most of my Suzuki work th...
