I've also had this key fob issue from time to time. Battery is Ok. Sometimes after a couple taps (inside my pocket) it works again.
If ever experienced it again, will take it to chk at dealer.

I also changed my visors lights to LEDs. Check it with the guys at Dr. LEDs (chk my prior post). The license plate ones were not too difficult to change.

That's what I just did. I covered the S with gloss black vynil and it blends well with the grill. Although I'd like to cut out the whole S and do a "surgery" by transplanting a honeycomb piece of grill from a donor broken grill off a junker. That way will bring a clean and debadged grill. ...
