Re: 114 Days: Pt III (3rd time's a charm)
CVT (with paddle shifters too). Were the paddles shifters standard? I never use them of course. lol . Yea, I guess it's been almost 10 years that I've owned it. I remember buying it. Traded a Toyota camry in for it. I remember driving the kiz home from the dealership, and it seemed so cool to me bac...

Re: 114 Days: Pt III (3rd time's a charm)
I bought my Kiz In November 2010. Still drive it as a daily. Work that has been done to it over the years: -Rear bass/speaker re-glued due to vibration issue covered under warranty -New mechanism replaced in drivers electric seat covered under warranty -New water pump and belt replaced. They never f...

Re: The Kizashi Spotting Thread!
I spotted a white one a few weeks ago. But they're always front wheel drives. Mine is the AWD, but I never have seen another AWD on the road in the 10 years that I've owned mine. I went to buy new spark plugs last weekend at advanced auto. I told the service guy at the counter I needed spark plugs. ...

Re: What is this part below exhaust manifold? Minor oil leak around this area
So last Saturday, the kiz was admitted for surgery to replace a VC gasket and receive new spark plugs. I performed the surgery in a surgeon-like methodical way. It was a success. Even added Permatex in the areas that the service manual recommends. I went ahead and added a bead of Permatex around the...

Re: What is this part below exhaust manifold? Minor oil leak around this area
Ok, I think I see what might be going on. It's a combination of multiple events. Over the last month, I did notice some burning plastic/oil smell through the vents when the fan was on the 'outside air' setting. It's definitely oil. Anyhow, I've always been aware of occasional white chalky anti-freez...

Re: What is this part below exhaust manifold? Minor oil leak around this area
Interesting. There does happen to be some oil seepage inside the semi circular plug and little around the corner of the VC cover/gasket. But no drip going from there to somehow making its way to the top of the metal cubed place on the block just below the manifold. There is a lot of oil gunk on the ...

Re: What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?
Turned 100,000 miles even though I've had the car almost 10 years. It became a daily beater to my primary vehicle, so it has kept some miles off this 10 year old Kizashi. Still runs ok. Just have a minor oil leak to resolve. Not sure how much longer I'll have this car before it goes to the junk yard...

What is this part below exhaust manifold? Minor oil leak around this area
Does anyone know what this cubed shaped part is below? I've developed an oil leak that's obviously been going on for a while unnoticed until I smelt burning oil inside the car when at a stoplight and tiny bit of smoke from under the hood. I've got the car parked in the meantime because to me it's a ...

Re: What you get into when you have too much free time and a soft spot for a broken Kizashi
That is a brilliant idea! Well, I still have the new tensioner sitting on my garage shelf. The new pulley that was removed from the new tensioner and replaced onto the old tensioner is spinning nice and quiet. I told myself if any ideas come to mind in the near future with how to remove that upper b...
