I've heard the manual boxes are strong and can handle more power (eg. the turbo conversions.) I would have thought Suzuki would have their CVT's well and truly sorted as they've been making them for many years.
The CVT is from Jatco and is the same one used in the Sentra/Versa.

I know the Suzuki Cultus (think older convertible Swift) came with a CVT back around the early 1990's (roughly?) A guy I worked with had one- borrowed from his sister. I wonder if Jatco made that one too?

What was the recall all about? Was ther a campaign number associated with it for reference? I have a 2010 CVT and have never received or heard of any recalls for the trans.

Thanks
Ron

It should just be a firmware update for the car as far as I know.
