The service center has ordered the alternator under warranty after checking the earthing and the battery. My power window motor also failed so it is also being changed under warranty. Can there be a connection between their failure?

It certainly could be the reason for the window motor dieing. Power surges aren't good for electronic/ electrical components.

*UPDATE*

The service center has halted the order of the alternator as they found a wire which was damaged and shredded. They replaced the wiring and now it seems that the fluctuation has stopped have to go and check it myself to believe it. They say it is the wire that connects the battery and the alternator. Will update as soon as I check the car myself. The power window has been ordered.

Interesting. I doubt it would have left the factory like that. Didn't you mention earlier it happened after they replaced your horn?

I suspect that it might be a rat that has chewed the wire. I had seen a rat inside but i thought i was seeing things. Looks like it was a rat after all. But that means I was driving a car with a RAT inside it  :o

Oh, it was a wire inside the cabin area? I figured it must have been in the engine bay somewhere.

I wonder where your friendly rat is residing now? :(

You are correct it is inside the engine bay. I had seen the rat run from the back to inside the dash from under. Ya i hope he comes out alive so that I can make him dead  :x

Ahh ... India LOL

Yes, a frayed wire would definitely explain your problem

Thanks for posting the result too. There have been a few similar posts but the results/ fix has never been posted.

PS: It's good to see it was another case of Suzuki/ the Kizashi not being at fault. :)

Hey guys an update

Well the voltage fluctuation was also because of a wire that had rusted from the inside due to poor insulation. According to the authorised service center they changed the wiring to solve the problem. When they came home to deliver the car to me I took a test drive. The fluctuation had reduced but was still evident with horn tone and interior lights fluctuation. In addition to this, there was a grinding sound coming from the steering when turning left. This has been diagnosed as a problem with the steering assembly. Now what annoys me is the steering assembly had failed earlier at 13k kms and has now failed at 16k kms, yeah you read it right that's only a 3k kms difference. To make matters worse one steering assembly costs Rs. 1.5 lakhs or USD 2500. It would be covered in warranty again but what about after warranty.
