Hey guys! So I've been having an interesting problem when going into reverse. Every time I go into reverse, the fuse blows. Now this wouldn't be the biggest problem, but this fuse is also connected to the ac for some odd reason. With this 10a fuse blown, I loose all function of my ac plus the backup lights.

I've had this car new since October 2011 and around 2015 the reverse switch started to not always activate. I'd have to wiggle the shift stick to activate the rear lights which also activates my rear view camera I installed. Anyone have any idea on what could be causing the short? Since having this issue I've disconnected the camera and put in a 20a fuse. I realize that's dangerous but its too damn cold outside to not have heat right now.

Has anyone else (other than you) been in to the shifter console, such as the dealer for that shifter recall? Before or after your camera install?

Is this manual or CVT?
This is what makes sense to me: You shift into reverse which actuates the reverse switch sending current to the back up lights. The fuse blows because there is a short circuit when the switch is actuated. I'd look for a wire that's grounding against the body/frame somewhere along the way causing the short.
Did you change your backup lights recently?
