So what are your settings? I'll match yours and then we can compare notes on the same song.jono6406 wrote:I have the Kenwwod unit also and I had to play with mines until I got it right. No it sounds good.
The Rockford Fosgate 'Sound'
That's a good point. I'm not bass-heavy, but I'll try turning everything up and see if it even sounds like a system with a sub. If the sub is out, then it definitely explains it. The treble and midrange would be carried by everything but the sub.LPSISRL wrote:Mine sounds fantastic. Maybe your sub-woofer is out and that's why there's not bass?
I couldn't find any threads on here about it.murcod wrote:Haven't USA owners with the Navi Unit combined with Rockford system complained in the past about this?

So im in the car right now listening to the song remedy, and during the base electronic section, I adjusted the subwoofer level from -40 eight to ten without any difference in sound. Loudness is on everything on the EQs turn to its maximum. And I'm listen to the tuner. Thoughts?
Yes, there is apparently a downgrade in music quality with the Nav. The best performing factory audio in the Kizashi is the Rockford Fosgate without the navigation... like my car. The stereo in my Kizashi is awesome.murcod wrote: Haven't USA owners with the Navi Unit combined with Rockford system complained in the past about this?
I think your subwoofer is not working. Try unplugging it and then re-plugging it. There is a connector at the base of the subwoofer, accessible via the trunk. Make sure the car/stereo is off when you do this.SamirD wrote:So im in the car right now listening to the song remedy, and during the base electronic section, I adjusted the subwoofer level from -40 eight to ten without any difference in sound. Also, I listen to very bass-heavy music. The song below has very heavy bass that sounds amazing in my Kizashi. Good tester song.

From memory it was to do with the way the Navi units were wired into the vehicles, rather than the original "RF" head unit being better quality. Remember, the RF head unit is actually just a Panasonic made unit badged externally with RF logos. The RF bits are the amp and speakers.KuroNekko wrote: Yes, there is apparently a downgrade in music quality with the Nav. IMHO if the Navi unit was installed properly it should sound superior.

Than you for the link! So that subwoofer adjustment does nothing anyways, lol. I'm still reading the other thread so maybe I'll get some ideas.
The reason the Navi sound isn't as good as the stock system is because it's using speaker level outputs with a converter to line level--never the best way to go.

Well, after reading the other thread, seems like the quality problem is pretty much standard.
Oh well, my wife won't notice it.
