It just clips together - that's how a couple of us have had it fall apart. Yours is broken anyway, so you can't really do much more damage to it. That whole assembly will need to be replaced.

Those pics are exactly what I needed. Just a quick question, How does the Square Plastic USB cover come off? Again I'm skiddish about busting things.

Thanks
It clips on from the front so if you push it from the back, it will pop out. I suggest you replace the whole USB apparatus as it connects via a cable. Replace the USB port and the circuit board it connects to. You should be able to disconnect them from the cable that you can see in my photos. I'm not 100% sure as I did not try.

OK, the port works and all my small older drives work. So I went to pick up a 16g drive. Just for everyone else's information, it was a 16g pny. It's doing the same thing that kate's drive was doing, plays for about 1sec then gives error code 1(what is error code 1?). Kate did you ever figure anything out? Is there a list of compatible drives? Could it be formating? Could it be MP3 compression rates? I could stay with 4 gig drives, but if others are using 16g, that would be the way to go. I, really want the 16g verbatim store and stay drive, but they are hard to find in stock around here.
