What's the full history of the vehicle- as far as what has been replaced and faults?
It might be unrelated, but as I mentioned earlier voltage spikes/ fluctuations aren't good for electronics. If you can notice it from the lights/ horn varying then they must be massive.
PS: Is it possible the rat has done more damage? The explanation you were given of the wire "rusting" internally is also interesting. Have a read of this http://answers.wikia.com/wiki/Does_copper_rust , I can't think of too many wires in the Kizashi that wouldn't be copper?

what about during the steering assembly repair? There are a MASSIVE amount of wires run through the steering column. What are the odds something went wonky during that repair?

I had problems with my previous service station and the car has improved after the new service station took over. The ASC manager says that the noise is from the power steering motor.

Hey guys it turns out it was not the steering but the chassis which had bent due to debris on road causing a bolt to bend which in turn led to the grinding noise. The ASC straightened the chassis and changed the bolt. Voila problemo solved

The roads (and traffic) in India are horrible. The only thing going for it is traffic is usually so slow that accidents aren't too fatal.murcod wrote:I get the feeling (from all the part replaced and faults) that your Kizashi has to cope with some really tough driving conditions?
