Solving an Overheating Problem - Caused Hose to Burst
bad gasket, not initially torqued correctly (mostly automated process) or even possibly a small machining flaw, or nick, with the head or block surfaces. This is why the zuk guys where I go tear apart first then make the assessment. In the past, I'd always re-torque head bolts on anything new no matter if I built it myself or bought it new. Now days they say there's no reason to retorque. I guess because of the engine warranties now days or maybe the modern day thread lockers that are out there, idk. On the Samurai it was a scheduled maintenance item around 50-60k iirc. Haven't seen it in a recommended service schedule since.
