It really doesn't seem right jimmerz. Are you located near any other owners, maybe you can ride in someone else's to see what it feels like. Maybe there's a tuning issue.

I know it don't seem right.... BUT, the calculation are pretty simple right?

I fill up my tank, reset my tripometer then drive....When I am empty I fill up, look at the tripometer (272 miles) divide that by my the gallons I put in my tank (14.6) and I get the results. (18.6mpg) <-----------does that look like I am calculating correctly? lol

I truly hope there is an issue that can be fixed, because this mpg SUCKS! I did about 150 highway miles today so I am guessing that my next read out will be much better, we'll see.

I got about 9.8L/100km (24mpg) with my previous tank (I'm at around 2800 km). That was with mixed driving. The one before that resulted in about 11.9 (19.75 mpg) with mostly city driving. But my city driving consists of lots of short trips (the longest one being 10km in the morning and evening to and from the train station, with lots of rushing, sometimes). That really kills the results, especially when the AC is on. My Outlander (3.0L V6, roughly the same weight as the Kizashi) needs over 13L/100km for the same type of stuff, so I know not to expect miracles.

I think I'm starting to see improvements even for these short trips, too, but it's a bit too early to say for sure. I'd probably wait until at least the first oil change before giving a verdict.

i figure the way you doing it might be better but have you tried the mpg computer on the car what does that say also know that it has to be set everytime you drive by looking at the average mpg and holding the top steering wheel button on right side until it goes blank then true reading will show as per the car computer i do it while driving ....also if you have a lot of stop and go traffic your readings will be low as in any car am sure you know this though

The computer, which has not been reset yet is giving me a 20.7 average which is about right. I never rely on the computer, its usually not as accurate.

I do a lot of stop n go driving and it is hilly here in Pittsburgh, plus I am running my ac a lot....BUT, with the same driving style and habits I was getting 19-20mpg in my full size, v6 Ford 500! That is what is upsetting me.

Ok, this tank had well over half of the total miles as highway miles. 287.5 miles, 12.8 gallons to fill, 22.46 mpg.= better.

I reset the computer...I truly hope those of you who are reporting your mpg are NOT solely relying on that read out. According to it I am getting 26.6 mpg.

Please give accurate mpg's by dividing the miles driven by the amount of fuel put in to refill your tank. Thanks.

I do both, I've been finding the MPG readout to be about 4-5% optimistic. It usually tells me I'm getting around 25 I find I'm getting around 24

Hi, just registered and making first post. picked up an sls platinum a week ago. Thought i would share my findings here so far although she has only 400 miles on her clocks. Mixed driving to and from work 38 mile round trip country, hilly a few miles on interstate. Computer says 27.1 calculator says 23.9 and the speedo is off by an easy 3mph at 55-70. hoping to get around 27-28 real world after breakin and good oil maybe air filter swap. I should add this is a cvt-AWD (off). In fact my only complaint is the CVT, if were not for the sport manual shift and paddles i think it would suck big time (IMHO). other than that love it.
