red leds on sides of roof window switch

Hi,

today I noticed there are 2 red leds shining from the top panel, one on each side of the switch controlling the roof window. Quick skim through the owners manual shows nothing regarding these. Any idea why they are there? :)

ANYONE know if those LEDs can be replaced with something brighter (and blue)?

I'd settle for 'brighter'.......
