Reason why I gave the title I did is because that's exactly how it sounds. I have a 2012 AWD S Auto, whether I drive in D or Tiptronic is still does the sound and it does it when I press the gas pedal almost like if im flooring it for like 4 secs and quickly let go. I hear a spool sound coming from the driver front side of the car, im thinking either something in the tranny or broken axle, rack-n-pinion... But something is still spinning when I take my foot off the gas.. Obviously the wheels spin but its doesn't make a turbo spool sound, its like driving a turbo car and you accelerate than let go just to hear the blow off valve, well in this case it sounds like a turbo spool...
People who hear it in the street think I have turbo, nice feeling but I know that the noise isn't normal lol... Any ideas???

I think it's either the air intake or the CVT. Check to see if there are any obstructions in the air intake. Check all the way from the intake hose, inside the air box, and to the throttle body. If the air intake is clear, my guess is that your CVT is acting up.

Have a read of the third post from the top www.kizashiclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2491 (and subsequent replies). It sounds like it might be the same thing?

It is the CVT. I have had the trans replaced. The dealer couldn't figure it out but I think I have. It all stems from the trans temp. The hotter it is outside the worse it is. However, mine stopped making these sounds yesterday out of the blue. So now I'm stumped again. I am happy and I will continue to be if these whining sounds stay away.
Interesting. Based on your experience, what could the OP do to check out the CVT? Just check the fluid?Bizzenn wrote:It is the CVT. I have had the trans replaced. Time to flush the fluid a couple of times. Did you feel anything different with the tranny?Bizzenn wrote:That's it. I think there was a blockage in the line and it finally cleared. Just a guess though.

So I took my car to the dealer and what I was hearing was a bad wheel bearing. So I got it changed under warranty but now Im still hearing the "BOV" noise but not as loud as it was before I got the bearing changed... I also heard about that belt slippage from the transmission. Its going to be hard for the dealer to do anything because I have a lot of mods on my car. 1 of the mechanics there was being a weiner about my mods, complaining and making excuses but thank God they changed the bearing anyways.. Im going to try to attempt to get the transmission fixed under the dealer but if I cant because of my mods im going to need to go to a transmission specialty shop.
