Hi all,

Was looking for the replacement part for my USB port (cover which slides to the side so that you can plug in a USB device). Mine got broken off by my sister who didn't know that it slides open. She tried prying it off thinking that it pops off. It did all right and broke the clip on the side. The USB cord fell inside. :?

I'm just looking for the plastic trim piece. I saw this one, but it seems expensive. I don't think I need the whole jack, just the plastic trim:

Here's a pic of the port. I have the SLS model. 2011.

Thanks in advance!

Here are some more pics. You can see where the tab broke off on the back.

Also, anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the console so that I can grab the USB port the fell inside? Thanks in advance!

Don't bother replacing it. Just superglue the old one back in place. The clips aren't very secure anyway and will likely break again with a new one.

Thanks. (Finally getting around to this.) In the interim, I just connected a USB extension chord on it. Ugly, but it works until I can fix it.

Does it matter that I don't have the right part of the clip that broke off? I'm planning to just buy superglue "gel" and smother the back of the clip to glue it in place.

As far and connecting it, I usually don't touch it much, I bought a small cord and always leave it plugged in to my OLDER iPod nano. My sister is the one who tried to pry it off not knowing it slides to open when she was trying to swap in her iPod.
