My blower motor stopped working (no air, heat from any vents regardless of setting) in the middle of a drive this morning. Still not working after restarting the car, but I hit a bump a bit later and it kicked on. It's working fine now.
Any idea what the problem may be, and why hitting the bump would fix it? I assume it will happen again.
Thanks!

Start by checking the fuse. If the blower malfunctions again after that, you'll want to inspect the unit and its connections. A few members here have reported failed blowers that had to be replaced.

Cracked circuit boards or cold solder joints on a circuit board would definitely present that type of symptom. I'd look at the controller first. Don't know if the blower has any kind of circuit board in it, but the controller certainly would. A Loose connector is not likely unless someone had it apart for some reason and didn't fully reconnect it. I've experienced that sort of thing with our old suburban's windshield wiper control. Give it a good whack and it would work again for quite a while. Ended up being replaced under a safety recall many years out of warranty for....bad solder connections.
