Transmission Filter

I've done a drain and fill once. Probably will again soon. I was looking at filters online. The first time I did this the auto parts store gave me both filters that are in the picture I posted. The lower one with the gasket is a traditional pan filter found at the bottom of the transmission. The cartridge style filter I could not find on the car. Does anyone know where it is? My assumption is it's inside the transmission or possible its in a satellite location, perhaps in the cooling lines?

The "upper" filter sits in a canister under the air box, the pan filter varies by model year (I think v1 = 2010-11, v2 = 2012-13). You can find the "upper" filter by following the lines from the transmission to the cooler. There is an o-ring that you should also replace. Here is a thread with useful info for you: viewtopic.php?t=3829
