Is the stock sound system good?

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Might be thinking Clarion head unit (they offer high-powered double-DIN with/without Bluetooth), and call and ask them about speakers that might best suit your music and listening style.

Yes, there are plenty of double DIN options around.

Get something with a minimum inbuilt 50w x 4 (22 Watts RMS x 4) amp and you'll be laughing if you team that with some high sensitivity front speakers. (See examples by Polk and Focal that are 92dB or higher sensitivity.) Leave the rear speakers stock and buy better front speakers. ;)

the stock HU's amp isn't that great. I for one am upgrading the entire thing: speakers, sub, amps, eq and all. I'd do anything to keep the stock look :P

I got a bargain on mine and wasn't actually planning on upgrading the head unit. The extra features are nice - particularly the bluetooth and navigation. If you can get hold of the factory fit double DIN adaptor then it still looks very "stock"- if you're not familiar with the Kizashi.

The only bad thing I can think of (with retaining the stock head unit) is you'll need to use the speaker level inputs to your amp. That might introduce more unwanted noise into the system?

Front doors are 6.5". Don't expect a huge improvement with just speakers though...

I have to say...I have the 2013 SLS with NAV and I am happy with the sound system. I did not get the RF sub, AMP and other 2 speakers (since they dumped it in the 2013 and went to a 7 speaker Harmon Karden system), but I think it has great, clear sound. It is not SUPER powerful, but I have never maxed it out and it still sounds great.

You have a 2013 SLS? With NAV?

I don't know, for me, it is more than enough sound, maybe I am not used to super high end stuff. I think the new Jaguar comes with Harmon Karden speakers, which is what we have. I believe they are pretty high end...I can only really listen to it at 20 on the volumn...25 would be the max I could stand...and that is not maxed out.
