25 MPG highway that isn't good. I usually get 27 MPG combined with 65% highway. You travel with a bunch of people in your car? Full trunk?

I went 352.9 miles; I used 10.9 gallons (and if you think I was cheating it was the FIRST TIME EVER I had the 'Range' gauge show '400 miles' after a fill!).

No matter how I estimate it, that's still over 32 MPG!

Nope, just me and I usually just put in $25 worth of gas. When I am on HWY, I usually travel at 130km/h with cruise control

I responded to the Poor Mileage Thread about my low MPG, regarding my AWD experience though…I love it. AWD was the number one criteria when I was looking for a new car. Not because I’ll need it a lot where I live, but because I knew it would narrow my search results down (I thought Subaru might be my only option in this price range). When I do need it, I can’t afford to be without it. I have no other AWD vehicles in my stable, and as the head of my household, I’ve got to be able to be able to serve my family in those times, and my job doesn’t tolerate everyone calling in sick because of the snow. Every winter season we get the annual reminder that snowmagedon is not a reason to miss work…operational demand…bla, bla, bla… Oh ya, it’s fun on dry pavement too! I’ve got a few high speed turns that I’ve perfumed in FWD and AWD. I’ve gone so fast I start to scare myself, and then I smile! :D I’ve never left it on long enough to evaluate the effect on my MPG.

This is alot like my reason for getting the Kiz. My first AWD car was my 325xi. That car was a beast in the winter, never left me stranded. So I knew my next car was going to be awd also. I didn't want bimmer prices or repairs so I went with the Legacy. I know people rave about subaru and it was a good car but I thought it was overrated. My bimmer outperformed the subie in the winter (yes there is more to winter driving than going up a hill). The subaru while nice didn't put a smile on my face.
Enter the kiz. Since Suzuki pulled out it made it possible to trade my 2012 subaru for a 2012 kizashi. Talk about tale of two cities. I have not driven it in the winter but man the awd is nice on dry roads even. Not to mention the good handling even in FWD mode. My kiz averages 1 MPG less than the legacy. On the other hand the CVT performs better than the legacy.
