Almost two months and still getting better MPG
the title really sums it up. Here are pictures that I took after making a long trip with my fiance to do a wedding food tasting at our venue. My mpg goes up every time I fill up and I'm not really having issues acheiving this level of mpg like I was on my first tank. Hand calculated is right under 30MPG, at this rate on this tank, this will be over 30mpg for sure.

Yes, must be a fair bit of flat terrain and highway driving in the mix?
I keep thinking I'm doing well at an indicated 8.7l/100km with all suburban driving - but that's only 27mpg! My average speed would be a lot lower.

i reset all of my trip information, avg speed, avg mpg, and odometer every time I fill up. I always fill up to 15.5 gallons which seems to be about .5 gallons after the pump automatically clicks off.
The trip I described was all one lane hilly terrain between about 20 miles north of Philly to Lancaster Pa which was about 70 miles both ways. Speed limits were generally 55 mph.
The trip did take us through about 5 little towns on the way so there was some stop and go. Probably 90% was on the 55mph roads
I have just been getting better as I learn the cars tendencies and especially gearing selections. I have found that skipping 3rd and 4th gears helps. Most of the time while accelerating, 2nd gear gets me pretty close to the speed I want to cruise at so I skip the ones between and just go right from second into 5th or 6th.

Nice! Have you changed any air filters or anything lately? How about the plugs and fluids?
