$11000 - what i still owe on it.

I am losing money either way, just how much more $$ the longer I hold on to it.

I was looking at a 2014 Dodge Charge SXT. Few things it doesn't have compared with my Kizashi.
Buying any car is a losing battle--just depends on when you want to get out to keep your original investment or if you just want to keep a car that's good to you.

I'm upside down about $2k for all the work I put into my 94 Accord. And people still want to buy it off of me. It doesn't even $2k value as a used car. But it's reliable as Honda can be and that's gold to me, even if it costs a bit here and there to keep it going. 8-)

I'm keeping mine till it dies...I have a Gray 2010 SLS FWD with 102,657 miles...Mt TPMS lights have been blinking for months, paint chips on the hood, but the engine is prime with religious 5k oil changes.

The only car I plan on trading my Kizashi for is the Tesla model 3 which is supposed to be in the $35k range. Other than that I'm keeping it for as long as she can run.

I bought my Suzuki Kizashi AWD 2012-SLS model fully loaded in Jan 2012 with 4k down & 0% financing 72 months and Dealer also offered me a price reduction of 5K so the total came down to 31K. There is a service center near by(in Salt Lake City, UT). After 3.5 yrs I have no repairs as the mileage is just 30K. It seemed to be a good deal at that time until Suzuki USA lately applied for bankruptcy. With Bankruptcy I am not sure what future holds for parts. is it a good time to sell?

The resale value plunged, and now it is on a less sharp, but still steady decline. You aren't going to get much on your trade-in if you get rid of it...I'd say you probably should either plan on keeping it for a long time, or selling it soon.

Hello fellow SLC-er!

Oh, and all new cars have the steepest depreciation curve in the first few years. So you've already taken the biggest financial hit. It'd be smartest to ride it out and keep the car until either you have to upgrade or you start to see the cost to own getting too high (maintenance problems popping up or the wait/cost to get parts is too much to deal with). With only 30k miles, you likely won't be seeing any major issues for several years to come.

I just picked up 2 in the last couple months. 1 - 2010 SLS AWD & 1 2011 Sport SLS AWD, both around 50k mi & both cost me $12.5k, so realistically you're looking around $15K for yours. Playing the odds, you're not likely to need many parts. Parts will be available for at least 8 more years before one actually has to hunt for them. If you buy another new car you're likely to lose $8-16k in the first 3 or 4 years of ownership. I'd only get rid of your Kizashi if you no longer enjoy driving it. (what are the chances ;o) ...unless you think you can find a used car for about the same $ that you would like better, selling makes no sense to me.

I am curious how your math came "down to $31k"? I've never seen a sticker so just going by MSRP it should have been right at $30k + ?8% tax, give it 10% for good measure so 33K - 4k - 5K = $24K. What price did it start at?

Just traded mine in. I bought it new 15 months ago for £14k, and got £10,300 back. The only people that do well out of cars is dealers.

I was thinking the same thing. Never heard of a Kizashi being as high as 30K, trying to grok out how knocking 5K off and a down payment of 4K could "bring it down to 31!K"?
