Don't delay on that new Honda; I turn 63 this month.

I'm reading quite a few good things about the upcoming Accord. Interesting to see them go turbocharged and dropping normally aspirated engines including the V6. Looks like it will be a 1.5T, 2.0T, and the hybrid. Both of the turbos will be offered with a 6 speed manual. While I think I prefer the styling of the current Accord, I'll save my judgment until I see a new one in person. I'm sure I'll see them soon given my area now. I've already seen the new Camrys and plenty of the new CR-Vs.

That's a surprisingly good trade in value. I guess the Kizashi's resale value slide has stabilized in some markets.

Negotiating for buying a car has been a bit of a sport for me as well. Last time I did was helping a friend buy a 2016 RAV4 that stickered at $28500 for $25500 OTD. He couldn't believe it.

Loooong time ago a dealer once told me after I complained about the trade value "oh we're going to send it to the auction". Meaning they really didn't want or need it and explaining they're not going to get much for it at auction, blah,blah,blah. Then, there it was sitting on their lot for a metric-azz-load more than what they showed me on the trade.

I got the same line when I was discussing a KBB Instant Offer when selling my parent's SX4 a few months ago. "It's going straight to auction, nobody wants those. $4k is the absolute highest I'll go."

I walked out of there and sold it to a guy within a week for $7500.

Fun Fact: The 2.0T in the 2018 Accords is a de-tuned version of the same engine being used in the Civic Type-R's. A lot of the internals have been downgraded in the engine they're putting in the Accords. But with an aftermarket ECU tune, I'm sure they'll be able to get back up to Type-R range pretty easy.

And I can't even imagine what the aftermarket ECU tunes are going to get out of the Type-R engines.

A lot of the internals have been downgraded in the engine they're putting in the Accords. But with an aftermarket ECU tune, I'm sure they'll be able to get back up to Type-R range pretty easy.

And I can't even imagine what the aftermarket ECU tunes are going to get out of the Type-R engines.

Yeah, I read that too. I think the era of tuned Hondas is finally coming back. That being said, I'm wary of 300+ HP going through the front wheels. Maybe torque vectoring and other technology has mostly "cured" torque steer, but I just think that kind of power should be RWD or AWD. We'll see what people say once the Type R's hit the streets.

The Type R uses a unique front suspension that eliminates torque steer.

That said, I only buy 4-wheel-peel.

To me the new Accord rear looks like a Fusion.
The front looks fairly bad-a$$.

Yeah, what's up with that? All the magazines are hooting and hollering about how they got to drive the new 2.0T Accords. But the last time I checked a week or so ago, they FINALLY got the 2018 Accord customizer website up and running, but you STILL couldn't select the 2.0T yet!

Right beyond those glass doors is the actual production floor. That day, there was an employee chili cookoff in there. The doors kept opening giving me a pretty good view of the factory.

Cool fact, there's a Service Center at the Marysville Auto Plant for employees for routine Honda service where they shuttle you to and fro. Plus a gas station, car wash, etc.
