Suzuki decided this "wasn't a paint defect".....

So last week the dealership gave me this response:
" I just heard back from our Suzuki Tech Rep. He had sent the pictures of your car to his Suzuki superiors and states that they don't see anything unusual with the chips in your cars paint due to rocks. They have No known problems with the paint and he states that rock chips are not a warrantable issue. They will hold your information on file and if there becomes a similar issue with other vehicles then they will address it at that time. We would like to offer you a bottle of touch up paint at no cost. Let me know if I can be of further assistance."
I have had the car less than two months and still have never driven it on a dirt road. None of my previous vehicles had chips like this, even after 5 years of ownership. This shouldn't be happening to a new vehicle. These pictures don't even show all of the chips and scratches, these are just the worst. I'm so disappointed that I have a vehicle with this much damage already and I will never buy Suzuki again. I have been in contact with Consumer Reports Magazine and hopefully they will help. I urge any of you that have had any problems with the paint to contact Suzuki
What color is your Kizashi, & do you have paint chips ?
so it looks like my image resize script was broken when I switched styles... I will try to get it fixed sometime this week.
Also, you may have noticed some down time.... The ads are temporally gone because I had to totally reload phpbb and the style.
EDIT:
I tweaked your post. Sorry.
If you upload files to my server they will auto thumbnail, but large files off site are currently having trouble. The problem is that I am on new board software, and a new theme. The image resize mod is lagging in the updates department. Hopefully there will be a new version within the next month or so. Until then I have imposed some size rules for images host off site. Feel free to upload your files as attachments. I have increased attachment size to handle larger files.

Azure grey... 1 chip that we know of. Saw it this morning, will look over it this evening and report back. Will start documenting them as they happen as well.
I heard back from Suzuki on facebook.
"While we appreciate your passion for the Kizashi, we would definitely like to speak with you directly on your issue so that we can understand your circumstances a little better. We have read the postings on the Kizashi Club forum above and need to document real-life occurences, which we cannot gather without direct contact with consumers. To date, we have received no direct communication, but would encourage you, or anyone else to contact us at [email protected] so that we might help"

Thank you for spearheading this, avmustang. As of yesterday we had a dozen + small chips on the hood of our Kizashi. At first glance, they certainly do look like chips from rocks, but upon closer inspection, as of yesterday at least, on one of the chips there was a noticeable raised edge around the chip that extended under the paint around it, like a bubble. implying to us that there are bonding issues with the primer. I will definitely try to get a photo of that.

Here's the bubbled up look around one of the chips. Sorry about the highlight of the sun there, it was the only way to get the shot with my pos pas camera

This one is the biggest one so far.

It's part of a cluster

and I really need to get a better photo of this one (on a schedule today, sorry), but it's an interesting double chip... to my knowledge rocks don't produce two, similarly sized, perfectly round chips that close together... I could be wrong though.
And there's about another dozen or so more specks over the hood that I didn't photograph.
so, Suzuki called back and left a message, created a "case number". i would probably call them next week when I get a chance.... I'm just not sure if I want to play their game.
"What's seems to be the problem Sir?
Well, I have paint chips in less than 2 months of ownership
Can you bring it to the dealer so we can take pictures of the chips?
Sure.
After the dealer visit:
Sorry, we have determined that your optical illusions make the chips look like paint defects, our experts in Japan think your paint is fine.
We appreciate your passion about Kizashi"

Thanks for the updates everyone (pics also). You're welcome Cherish. It just bothers me so much when this type of stuff goes either unnoticed, or ignored by companies. Keep pressing them on this. And good thinking, maybe it is the primer? I don't know a lot about the auto painting process, but I know that there are numerous steps involved, and if corners are cut (or quality isn't up to specs) on any of them....well, we're seeing what happens.
