Hello Group.

Am considering buying a Kizashi have have just read this thread. Wondering what the rattle was and if it affects both left and right wheel drive vehicles? Am in Australia, so will be driving a right hand drive variety.

Is the fix a success?

Anything else to consider in buying a Kizashi?

My I ask what was causing the problem with the noise and what the possible technical bulletin is called? I am thinking of taking mine in this week.

I've only had my 2011 GTS for less than 2 weeks. Love the car. I haven't heard any rattles yet, but am just approaching 600 miles, so maybe I haven't shaken everything loose yet. I read through this entire post, and it looks like the problem was finally found and there is a fix. (Yeah I guess I had time to kill.) Can someone clarify on what it was, so if some of us start to hear the rattles we know what to tell the dealer to check out? It sounds like there were a few different fixes but the last few posts seemed to indicate there was a problem acknowledged from Suzuki and a fix provided to the dealers. Maybe I missed where someone pointed out what it was, but can someone post what the specific Suzuki acknowledged fix for the problem was? Was it the engine mount?

So far the only rattle I've heard is when the bass from the fosgate kicks my garage door opener around in the door pocket. :D

"Was it the engine mount?"

No, not for me. I have a '10 base S with 6 spd manual. I've had the "clunk" from the right front since the car was several days old. It took me a while to eliminate something in the glove box or maybe the trunk. Those are not the problem.

I had it in for that specific purpose: replace R engine mount. I'm pretty sure they did just that because you can see shiny clean (new) metal at that location.

It did nothing whatever to affect the noise. If you drive around 35 mph, and strike anything from cross-walk paint up to a pot-hole, you will get the noise from the right front (only). You can hit anything you like with the left-front tire, including RR crossings, and it is silent. Also, at highway speeds, there is no noise at all, none.

Did the engine-mount fix work? No.

Vic, did they replace the engine mount with the re-engineered engine mount?

"re-engineered engine mount"

This is the first time I've heard that term... I have no idea. If it will help identify this part, on the service ticket is written:

AJ11RO Eng Mount
2916 WSUZ
1 11610-57L01 MOUNTING, ENGINE

The basic story is that I printed out the page above containing your wording "...it was the passenger-side engine mount..." (Sat. Feb 19) and took it to the selling dealer's service dept. They told me that they confirmed the noise, and were going to replace the mount. Okay. I waited a week to get the part in, and then they installed it. I got maybe a mile from the shop when I heard it the first time. The SAME NOISE I've gotten almost used to now.

If there are any other reference points you would like to know of from the work-order, just ask. As for me, I'm going to see if there is some way to get into a base Optima with the 6 spd manual. I've had three KIAs so far, and a close-out '11 would work for me...

Just for the record, I really like the Kizashi. It would easily be my favorite all-time (new) car were it not for the clunk.

Well I had the engine mount replaced. Got my car back yesterday and didn't hear any more noise until today when I was on a bumpy road. the clunking sound is still there. I don't know what to do. Should I call Suzuki corporate and inform them so an engineer can look at it. And I hear it in the rear to.

Strangely all the noises on this car are on the passenger side front and rear. Suzuki if you are monitoring this board please contact me.
