Ideas for Wheels???

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Back to offset for a minute...you will want to know this...

The Offset spec refers the position of the wheel's bolt plate in relation to the center of the rim.

The factory 18s have an offset of 42. A number higher than that will make the wheels tucked in more under the fender, while a lower number will push them out farther. You probably don't want either of those.

If you use Tire Rack and search via entering your vehicle type you'll be fine. ;)

Things like PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter), offset, centre bore, rim width will all matter, but luckily the Kizashi is a common size so there will be a large selection of wheels to choose from. For example Tire Rack list 187 wheels to suit in 18".

I'd suggest sticking close as possible to the factory 18" size ( 18 x 8" with 42mm offset going by the info posted by Firefly.)

This site has some good info on the differing wheel specs and what it all means: http://www.1010tires.com/About/Wheel-Tech#Offset (they also allow you to input your vehicle model to filter wheels that will fit.)

May I suggest Enkei RPF1 wheel? Even the Kizashi Turbo concept uses it. I think they also come in 18" too.

I saw this on an Australian automotive website and love it. I wouldn't mind wrapping my Kizashi like that (even if it is not a turbo)

So do you think I will be fine from going up from 17's to 18's. I just basically have to aim for a 42 offset, correct? Thanks for all your help.

What does everyone think of this. It says to have a +48 offset though.

You can imagine it this way: 48 offset will be tucked 6mm further "in" than the factory 18.

On the Bimmer forums, we had a member who worked for Tire Rack and was great at dispensing advice on tire and rim fitment. If you can find a knowlegable expert, great.

If you can't get the same offset of 42mm you'd be better off with a lower offset - even just for the appearance of the vehicle (so a number less than 42mm.) The further the offset is away from the factory 42mm the more likely you are to get the tyres rubbing- depending on how much extra clearance there is on the Kizashi?

What width is that wheel too? You don't really want to go narrower than 8".

PS: Be aware that the ride will be firmer with the larger rims, so you'll feel more bumps in the road etc. Possibly more road noise inside the vehicle too.

Firefly - are you sure about the offset being 42mm? The reason I ask is here are two adverts for factory 18x8" alloys both stating 50mm offset:
