Suzuki might buy them in large batches from various manufacturers. It may depend on what year model you've got. I'd imagine they'd favour the long life variety for less complaints from owners.

True, but something tells me they never even got to their 'tier two' vendors since the car never took off and had only one chassis/model. I'll find out when I pull the bulb. Not looking forward to it.

I just located my old/ stock bulbs and they're 12972LL Philips- which indicates the same long life Philips bulb. http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/1 ... _enggb.pdf

I've always found it very weird whenever the lifespan of a bulb is measured in distance... Anyway, here are the key takeaways for the stock bulbs:

- Lumens: 1500 +/- 10%
- Lifetime (B3): 1000 hours - 3% of test bulbs have failed at this point
- Lifetime (Tc): 1500 hours - 63% of test bulbs have failed at this point

Very interesting when you compare these with the specs from Sylvania for their H7 bulb (https://www.sylvania.com/en-us/applicat ... tnumber=H7) as they only list 125-270hrs filament life.

Here are some more specs on H7 bulbs courtesy of Daniel Stern:

Standard H7:
55w, 1500 lumens, 500 hours

H7 ultra "Plus+50" (any brand):
55w, 1580 lumens, 225 hours

H7 Xtreme "Plus+80" (Philips) or "Plus+90" (Osram):
55w, 1620 lumens, 200 hours

So My headlight at driver side went out (the one more laterally which I assume is the "low beam"?) so i spent the night reading the posts here to educate myself. Bear with me with my lack of automechanic knowledge.

Looking at kuros posts, i got a good understanding of how the bumper has to come off. Ive decided i am nowhere near ready to go with a new HID system. And i probably do not have the time or tool to take the bumper and lighthead out let along dealing with the troubleshooting if any.

I'll prolly goto a dealer or a shop to do it (i assume they should be familiar with how to di it without screwing things up?)

Now, i figure getting the bulb myself will save me the markup cost at the shop? I looked at the osram rallye mentioned and am still uncomfortable with the higher W. Has anyone actually been using it as low beam? After looking through amazon, where i usually purchase my stuff, I am leaning toward philips xtreme power or vision (so many different choices!) or osram nightbreaker but would like additional input from other forum users.

Been rocking the 65w Osrams on my other vehicles for a while now without any issues. The increase in wattage is immaterial. Current goes up by <1A

You can get the Osrams off eBay for dirt cheap and they actually improve light output a lot
