I believe that day is was -11. It was cold and it took the police 30 mins to get someone to us. My city is not big at all.
I was originally angry with state farm because they gave me a compact for a rental. I called and complained and the answer I got was they do that with everybody regardless unless for some special circumstance. I think that is one of the crappiest things to do. In the end for me it works out better because compact sedans tend to be better on gas.
They gave me a KIA forte and I must say I'm impressed with its road handling and accleration. Not much to look at but a good driving car.

I got a Cruze when mine was damaged by the power company. Of course the rental company was willing to upgrade me at my own expense. I didn't complain, I barely drive my car anyways so I wasn't going to spend much time in it.
The Cruze wasn't all that bad though. It had the 1.4T - peppy little engine. Definitely a very competent compact.

That's standard procedure. And of course this all depends of what levels of rental coverage you have. $25 a day, $30 a day, etc. Usually covers a subcompact or compact.

Except it is not my insurance. This is the person's that hit me insurance. If I had a truck that I often needed I would really make a stink.

It's the same the other way, depends on what they have for a daily/weekly/monthly limit.

Not your problem. If you drove and needed a truck, a truck is what you are entitled to get. All you need do is inform their ins. co. the bill will be sent to the person who hit you, their insured customer. You'll get your truck rental. You have zero beef with the other person's insurance company and are under no obligation to accept what they 'offer' you. Your insurance, different story, it's what you are covered for.
Hopefully the repair is as good as new and done to your complete satisfaction.
New estimate: 8100! Body shop called made it sound like I would be upset telling me that they had to get new parts because they could not find used parts. I guess he doesn't realize that the insurance company of the other driver is paying.
