What Did You Do With Your Kizashi Today?

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Lovely color! Lovely spot! I love parking spots like that. In our MKE parking garage, we had a spot where one side was a concrete wall and the car was surrounded by concrete columns at the other corners. A hard spot to get into, but one that literally no one could hit. 8-)

I won't have the opportunity to get under the car for a while but I simply pulled the upper part of the steel mesh to a portion before the folds of the flex pipe and then tightened a stainless steel hose clamp around it. Last time I was under my car, I saw that it was still in place and I made the repair over two years ago.

Here's the sort of thing I'm talking about:

That's pretty much what I was thinking too. What did you do about the other end of it? Did it stay in place or did it 'ride up' towards the front of the car?

The back side of the mesh wasn't ripped out of place for my Kizashi. It was only from the front to the back as I ran over a parking block by accident when driving on snow.

Mine was initially damaged in the same manner, but over time, even the rear loosened up and I noticed it only when it was in the same condition as LPSISRL's. :(

I'm going to see if a clamp on both ends will work, but it will be a few weeks before I can.

So I was sitting in a rented Nissan Murano with my Kizashi key in my pocket and the Nissan would display 'Key ID Invalid' (I believe, maybe have the exact phrase wrong now) and would show the way to touch the key to the start switch like we have to sometimes for our Kizashi.

Pretty interesting that the Nissan not only identified the key, but even talked to it to the point that if the key ID was correct, it would have worked.

Nissan and Suzuki use the same fob maker (Calsonic) so I don't find this too surprising.

Yep, I expected more of an interference though versus communication. The key fobs definitely do have different shapes and buttons. I think the Suzuki one is a big bigger and beefier. 8-)

It's July 7th, 2018 and I still have my Kizashi since 2010!!!!!!! Just had the water pump replaced in it last week, even though the water pump still seemed to be good. I plan on driving this until 200K miles!!!! As a daily driver to work vehicle to keep the miles off my NEW truck. Had a corvette previously, drove the Kizashi as a daily driver to keep the miles off the corvette. Kizashi is still going STRONG. Will keep it many more years. It's got dings, a small dent, and scuffed wheels. But still runs great, will be getting new tires soon. It's got an AWD system that is great in snow, and 30 mpg, great vehicle to keep while owning a second vehicle to drive as pleasure. Suzuki built a good 4 cyl engine for this one. The 4 cyl. (of which I only have been putting synthetic oil in) has been awesome, runs as good as the day I bought it new. CVT transmission still going strong as well. But I drive my vehicles easy, I don't run the shit out of them like most people of the general public.

What a great car this has been. Since 2010 and still going STRONG. If I had money and a huge warehouse garage, I'd clean this vehicle up, repair the dings, and store it as an icon and keep it forever. What a great vehicle Suzuki built. It's been 8 years, and the Kiz 4 cyl engine has been still running excellent to this day with no signs of slowing down. What a great vehicle. **Suzuki built a GREAT engine**

We feel the same way about ours--such a great car made to stand the test of time. I want to pick up a few more and put them in storage just to have reliable cars for the rest of my life. :)
