Them's some good old prison spiders there! Dwarfed only by the cockroaches.
I can't believe movies made with that crappy production quality ever made it to the theater. My brother could have made that film.
Well, this movie (Cloverfield) is portrayed through a first person camcorder viewpoint so it's deliberately supposed to be rough and raw. In fact, you hardly ever see the character who's filming because he's carrying the camera and the entire movie is shot through that camera's lens.SamirD wrote:I can't believe movies made with that crappy production quality ever made it to the theater. Not sure if you've seen the film, but it's about a monster (and its spider-like parasites) that attack Manhattan. The movie is from the angle of someone documenting it on camera as it happens.

True, but this genre doesn't require such cheap and raw looking production. Even in the clip you posted, there was some dead time where all you could see were swinging lights from the camera shake. Why would I want to pay to watch a badly recorded home movie? I guess there's a market for everything though.KuroNekko wrote:Well, this movie (Cloverfield) is portrayed through a first person camcorder viewpoint so it's deliberately supposed to be rough and raw. First time I saw this movie was from a pirated download with awful resolution. So story line aside just trying to watch it made me frustrated considering how dark the movie is even at optimal resolution. Every Time I would get a glimpse of the creature, I would say what is that. I cant tell. No one could tell. Well years later I finally saw the original version and found myself saying it again. I think there are just 2 or 3 shots where you can actually make out the monster. Best part was when the monster crunches down on the guy shooting and all you see and hear is crunch, crunch, crunch.
