Not today, but I spent all of Sat polishing her up. I picked up a new DA polisher and wow what a difference it makes vs. doing it by hand!

I was able to pull ~90% of previous owner's swirl marks out with one pass. I'll use a slightly heavier compound next time as there are a few light scratches and remaining swirls that m105 can reduce/remove.

Nice.

Where did you get your D/A polisher?
I'm thinking of getting one soon. I intend to clay, compound, polish, and wax this spring. I have some compound and polish made by Meguiar's but it states to not use with a D/A polisher and to use by hand only. I plan to try it out, but will probably get a D/A polisher and suitable compound and polish for the future. I already have a random orbital waxer.

Everyone's right about the Kizashi's finish. It scratches so easily. It's as if it gets into fights with cats and angry women all the time.

Here's where I got mine and the package that I purchased. I'm sure you could build your own kit, but I had no pads or anything so buying this package simplified the process. Plus the bonus how-to DVD was appreciated. They have free shipping now and again so keep an eye out.

Changed my 17" stock wheels to the 18" Sports wheels :D Probably not exciting for most of you with the 18" wheels stock but I love them - Picked them up for $200 brand new so I could spend the money saved on wheels on the tyres - Bridgestone Potenza's RE050a 235/45. Very happy.

I found them listed online, the seller owned a dealership and ordered them for someone as an accessory or something for a lower model but they didnt follow through so he just sold them cheap to move them on. They were still boxed and all.

I have no idea where 16510-61AV1 is from, but it appears to work with the Kizashi too. Both are made in Japan but without comparing the two physically, I can't tell if they're identical or not. The 61AV1 is labelled as an "authorized replacement part" while the 61A31 is a "genuine part."

Cross references suggest that Tokyo Roki LFS708 replaces both, so I wouldn't worry about it.
Now you have me curious about the filter! Especially since mine is blue. :?:

The chrome trim (or "side molding" as Suzuki calls it) is four separate parts (FR, FL, RR, RL) available pre-painted. The front pieces are $308 each and the rear pieces are $240 each. The four pieces total $1100! :o

Did you know if you bought a car brand new and then disassembled it and sold off the parts, you'd double your money? Hence why a set of 4 is $1100!

That's interesting that the Meguiar's says hand only. A couple of years ago, I attended a clinic at the Meguiars headquarters in Irvine and they used a DA with just their normal walmart stuff for some amazing results. Their 'dirtiest claybar ever' is from my brother's old Altima (now mine).

And you have to tell us the story behind fights with cats and angry women--it actually sounds like a great title for a book or movie.
