tc,
You are probably right that the Max is the best bet to be "future proof" of all the detectors out today. The Max display is one of the reasons I'm sticking with my 9500IX's for now. I have read that the OLED display, while informative, is dim. For now I am completely happy with my 9500IX's. The only time I get a alert is when "I need to know" and the range is more than what is really needed. Of course I'm not traveling at 100+ anymore. I expect that in the near future all these new adaptive cruise control systems and accident avoidance systems will make me change to the Max or it's future replacement. For now I have not noticed any false alerts from them.

Cool mileage
Nothing to report. Car still leaps past 80, still (can) get 28 MPG, still tight-n-right.
Oddly (?), this set of Conti snows --rotated/balanced at 10K-- shows no signs of cupping or unusual wear!
I think it's time again for fresh oil, and maybe diff fluids again.
Eventually I'm gonna hafta replace the cabin filter
Paint literally still attached.

Had the oil changed Tuesday at 116,246. Last one was at 107,XXX. Figured it was due, ay?
Tires aren't (!) cupping; whew!
Cabin still quiet, motor still strong, brakes still stopping, suspension still damping and rebounding.
Maybe a few rattles now from those splintered plastic underbody trays banging around; BFD
A fair question might be how I've accrued so many miles in so short a time.
I like driving.
I most enjoy challenging both myself and my machine, and I can readily find roads --ha!-- in Vermont that meet that need.
Plus I get somewhere.
Plus I can smoke while indoors and seated, too
Kinda looking at the new '15 WRX, but there aren't any CVT's around here yet. That said, since I'm enjoying my Kizashi, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it (hmmmmm, maybe that unchanged cabin filter
), I'm currently planning to continue driving it.
I like it that much.

That's amazing isn't it? How quickly Stockholm syndrome sets in and we just get used to our new, completely unacceptable rules.WESHOOT2 wrote:Plus I can smoke while indoors and seated, too

Should be a convenience store, not a government agency

Smoking attitudes are so different over in Japan (and other parts of the world). Asians and Europeans are heavy smokers.
In Japan, smoking used to be the norm for adult males. They even sell cigarettes in vending machines all over the country. Growing up in Japan in the 80's, I got used to the smell of cigarette smoke. In fact, I actually like the smell because it's nostalgic to me even though I'm not a smoker. Yeah, that should probably be considered a sad thing for a childhood.
Regardless, cigarette packs are about half the price they are in the US and that's mainly because the government had a monopoly on cigarettes for a long time. In fact, the government still has a large ownership of the cigarette industry over there.
Smoking and non-smoking sections in places like fast food restaurants are separated by a line or rope as if they don't realize smoke is a gas and it doesn't abide by separation from a rope.

In my 2011 Kizashi S AWD are the flashing lights that let me know my TPMS system is totally disabled (because the sensors are in a bag in the glovebox).
Both traction control and vehicle stability assist remain active, except with significantly higher thresholds before activation.
Significantly higher (and frankly, of no help while driving).

There's now news that Subaru may make a hatchback WRX after all.WESHOOT2 wrote:119,183 miles at the moment, starting to think about summer tires.
Except I sat in a new 2015 WRX.
Oh my.

Wife told me "no new car yet".
Besides, nothing wrong with me Kizashi!
People were up in arms when it was revealed that the new Rex was sedan only.

There's a lot of unique mileages to take pictures of like this one. My favorite is 123,456. 111,111 is pretty cool too. 222,222 is pretty impressive as well.WESHOOT2 wrote:3 years 2 months 15 days 115,115 miles
