"...tube of an air conditioner near the floor...".
This was the first thing I looked for after eliminating either the glove-box or anything in the overhead (like sunglasses in the holder-thing). I raised the hood and began wiggling the A/C line as it went into the fire-wall area. It will make a very similar noise. So, I took a bunch of shop towels and carefully insulated the line as best I could. On a test drive, it didn't seem to make any difference.
You could be spot-on as to a line just inside the passenger compartment, up under the dash. Something loose there would be just the ticket. If I read somewhere (like here, for instance) that someone found something like that, I'd be back at the Service Department in a heart-beat.
Could you tell me which model you have, along with the build-date? I've got the base "S" with manual (which I just love...) and my B/D is Mar 10. There have been several other 10s here with similar problems, but they all seem to have drifted away. Also, I've got about 8K for miles, but the clunk has been there from the start; mileage doesn't seem to be part of it.
New Rattle--Please call American Suzuki to report!
Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum, and I've had my Kizashi for a week now. On the second day, I noticed this 'klunk' every time I drove over a railway crossing or rough roads. It first appeared to be coming from the passenger door or glove box.
Happy to report that I've located the culprit... in the case of my car.
It's the lid covering the middle map light above the driver (where the sunroof switch/sunglasses unit is).
To test, hit the surrounding roof area with your hand/fist. It should produce the 'klunk'. Repeat with another finger pressing on the lid should stop the sound.
I stuck it firmly in place with some double sided tapes from the inside and the 'klunking' is gone.

I haven't read through all 10 pages of this thread. So, I hope my discovery is helpful to some of you guys.

I had a similar rattle that bugged me for a month, and then I finally found it! It turned out to be my sunglasses in the overhead storage bin. I turned them around and the rattle stopped.
mmmm ... i am in my job by now ... but later i will check this hipothesis (LOL) i hope this could be the cause ... but i am pretty sure that the freaking noise comes from the passenger side door beside the glovebox ... report later
best regards .

Hello,
is somebody still experiencing this problem with ratlling noise from the front passenger area? I have recently bought kizashi and this issue is driving me nuts. In suzukki I got changed a lot of parts from the front right area but nothing is helping.
Do you have some more advices please?

Noises are hard to pin point when driving.
I thought mine was in the dash but it was
and still is the sunvisor. Don't know if its the plastic
extension or the light or mirror but I know if I smack
the sunvisor the noise will stop for awhile.

Well it is definetly comming from the bottom area on passenger side. I stopped counting how many times my kizashi was in suzuki regarding this problem and still the noise continues. Anyone else whit some advices?
Also I am little bit worrried about the engine. I found out that after driving when the engine is warm I stop on the parking place and just put the parking brake and hear the sound od the engine.(I have manual transimtion). Holding it on regular rpm..doing nothing just listening... I hear a regular rattle from the engine area. It is not too loud but I can clearly hear it.
The noise is comming out only after the engine is warm. When I start my car in the morning there is no such noise. It comes after a longer drive.
Does anyone have an advice to this? In suzuki nobody hears that ofcourse.... do I have to worry or it is normal
thank you a lot

You're going to have to take a closer look. Did you check the glove box and behind it as well? You can unhinge the glove box and check for any loose or misplaced items there. While you're at it, check and/or replace the cabin air filter. Perhaps a leaf or other debris is causing the noise. Also check under the seats for any loose wiring or items.luki_mkk wrote:Well it is definetly comming from the bottom area on passenger side. Also, what's the engine noise like? Like a rattle? You may want to record the sound and upload it here. I also have a 6 speed but don't hear any odd noises however, oil type and condition can affect that. Check your oil and make sure it's clean and topped off. Low/dirty oil can cause noises from the engine, but they aren't usually described as a "rattle" but more a ticking. Also, get gas from a different location and see if the noise persists.
The only rattles my Kizashi has is from the sun visor's extensions but inserting them in a certain way prevents the rattle. You simply don't push them in all the way so it keeps them wedged at a smaller tolerance.
The other and only noticeable source of a rattle for my car is the moonroof's wind buffer when it's closed. I'll get to adding some padded tape to resolve that issue eventually.

Well I took it to my dealer once again. Since I noticed this knocking sound comming in my opinion from the front right side they changed front absorbers, absorber bearings, front sway bars and bearings, checked the engine area under the hood if there is something loose, checked everything under the car (if there is something loose), I had the glove box out also but this was not the problem.
The last recent thing, they have dissasambled the front bumper and chcecked the plastic chasie around this area and a hope also around the front right wheel area, they found some missing screws and raplaced it. No result.
But after this last visit dealer said that if they hit the exhaust under the car, they hear a metal knock. Not everytime but if they are tying a while it occures. So the last suggestion is to replace the exhaust. Dealer said that the exhaust has also some absorbers and bearings which is possible they make the noise. I agreed because I am really exhausted and said of this noise comming from under the car and I think this is tha last chance and afterwards if it will not work, and I think it will not, after all those disappointments, I will have to turn up the radio

I just do not understand, the knocking is from the sharp bumps. If I hit it just with left front side nothing... Only the right front side or if I hit the sharp bump with both... It seems like something is loose. It is not loud but I hear it everytime I am driving and the road is bumpy.
If you still have any suggestions I am happy for any advice.
