So I've had RRM's SRI installed for just over 7 months. Despite accepting the fact of not getting the color I had ordered online, I was satisfied with the product. That is until yesterday, when I discovered the engine mounting bracket had snapped in half! WOW! I guess the old saying you get what you pay for doesn't apply to RRM products. $279.38 worth of supposed performace parts lasted just over 7 months. And I'm an anal SOB when it comes to my car. I can't imagine if I had driven the car with no care at all. I will be calling them to discuss it, but I doubt I will bother replacing it with another RRM product.

I'm sure they would replace it. If you don't want another SRI, ask them for the rear sway bar. I just installed mine, and it is a great mod.

So far they asked for pictures that I sent today. I spoke with Roman, one of the managers. He seemed pleasant and said they would probably just send the new version out. We'll see! If it is as simple as that, and the new one holds up (which remains to be seen) then my confidence will be restored. As far as the link above and the filter issue, I have not experienced any issues like that. I've cleaned the filter once now by soaking in soapy warm water, and drying thoroughly. No issues with rust or caps falling off. I do keep the engine compartment pretty clean, so that may be holding off any rust grabbing hold on the chrome parts. The only thing that has affected the filter is the broken bracket that allowed the assembly to fall on the engine mount, which did tear some of the black netting that is over the filter.

So RRM is sending a new replacement today. Supposed to be the new all aluminum version. So I'm happy they were so easy to work with. Now just have to see if the new version stands up. I'm hoping being all aluminum the bracket won't have to support as much weight at that 90 deg bend. The old version seemed to bounce a lot. I'm sure that is what caused the break. So let's see what happens.

Got the new replacement. Completely aluminum version. At least half the weight of the original version. I can see how the weight on that mounting bracket caused it to bounce and eventually crack. Funny observation. I know that when these parts are designed (or modified to fit this particular car) measurements are taken to make sure the part fits correctly. Well I'm putting in this new version using the couplings RRM provided. And I'm noticing the whole thing just doesnt look right. Angles are off. Components are touching. So after some head scratching and a few WTF!'s I realized the rubber coupling they are proving is just too long. Had to cut that in half so the fit was right. My point is how can you sell a custom built part that still need modifications to really fit. I guess I expect a bit more attention to detail. I would think anyone that has an interest in modifying their car would be detail oriented. It's the nature of our interest. Anyways, I'm just babbling, the new part looks great and fits alot better now then that old version. Again time will tell. RRM did the right thing so I'm a happy customer. Just wish their pricing would come down so I can buy some other toys from them LOL.

Maybe you should ask Rock about the length of the rubber coupling. he should have an answer for you
