borla or road race catback exhaust?

Anything related to the Kizashi can go here, but please look at the other headings first. Your topic may fit better under something else.

Trying to decide on the road race exhaust or the borla exhaust. I have heard what the road race exhaust sounds like but am unable to find anyone with a borla exhaust installed. Any suggestions on which would be the better choice?

There are a few posts on the Borla; I seem to recall somebody said it droned? The rrm IIRC doesn't have a centre resonator, so I'd expect that to be loud.

Please see the post that I had written a while back re: my experience with a Borla exhaust on a 2009 Honda Civic Si coupe that I had before the SLS that I have now. Hope it helps.

I read the post. I appreciate the advice. I would really like to hear the exhaust and hear reviews from someone who has the system installed. Like in the post it may sound different based on a different car style. Hoping to make a decision. :)

It most certainly would. I thought the Borla droning post referred to it being a Kizashi system!

If I personally was buying, I would go Borla over RRM. The extra resonator and stainless steel would sway me...

Yes I did see that in the difference. I listened to different cars with the borla exhaust and really don't want the muscle car type of sound. I love invidia exhaust but unfortunatly there isnt one made for the Kizashi.

Personally everytime I look at the rrm exhaust I cant help but think it was done kind of lazily. Basically the stock exhaust minus a few resonators.. the borla one is an actual catback 'system' in my eyes. If I were going to get one though id get a custom titanium one from a good exhaust shop. Borlas price is pretty high for stainless steel so I reckon youd get a titanium one for a similar price (I got quoted 860 a while ago but id want to pay more like 1200 for titanium) only titanium sounds sooo much nicer on japanese cars. Less drone cruising, more get the hell out of the way when you punch it. Again personal opinion :P

Do they use titanium for the piping too? I'd imagine it would be a fair bit lighter?

They should but I imagine that quote contained off the shelf stainless mufflers like hi-flow/borla/every other cheap canon brand with the custom piping in titanium to get the cost lower. Ive helped git a full titanium catback on an is250 and it is a lot lighter, a lot stronger and I imagine will last better, worth the money for the awesome sound alone though :D
